Been using united premium-100 in my ve senator for about 1.5yrs now.
I reckon its great, feels more responsive and feels better right thru the rev range. i used to use there boost-98..that was great also. My car is tuned for it tho, so i am getting the most out of it, as compared to just switching fuels. Everyone to there own, but i rate it.

been using it for a while now, and am happy with it. Litres per hundred has only gone up by around .5-1L around town. Gotta do some testing and see if there is any real gains to it.

Re: Anyone tried United's new 100 Octane

united in preston on bell st has it now.

how does it compare price wise? 98 at shell or bp is usually about 15c per L more, is 100 the same over uniteds normal 91ron price?
if they are using X amount of ethanol, how does that impact the cars health eg does it need to be retuned? will it decrease engine life / increase wear? same for e85...?
the problem with common sense is it's not that common

Usually around 15/16c dearer then there 95ron. Its only 10% ethanol, You can run it without being tuned for it, you'll still notice it...just not as much if it were tuned specifically for it. Turbo cars love it!!
I remember reading an article in a mates High Performance Imports mag. They compared, Uniteds Boost-98, (premium-100 not out then!) Bp Ultimate and Vortex 98. The car was an R32GTR. Doing nothing but change fuels, the Boost-98 produced 16rwkw more over the other 2 fuels from memory . Message Street Tuna on here, i think he wrote the article.
I say give it a go mate, it aint going to hurt.

Re: Anyone tried United's new 100 Octane

Been on sale in SA for while now. Use it on my bike first as it has high comp pistons and shaved and ported heads. Stops the pinging I get down low on 98. The tune is a little agressive (tune is setup for O/S fuels).

Now use it on the clubbie (cammed) don't notice much difference to 98.

So is there any negatives in using a fuel that has 10% ethanol in it? Engine wear or anything like that?

How much of an improvement is there if you have the car tuned for it rather than using it when tuned on 98

Nope except for slightly more consumption.

So I can get as much improvement as I want?

Ok so it's not really measurable but is there a definitive improvement or just a possibility?

IMHO if you have pinging try 100 as it might fix the problem.

If you tune for it n/a you might get a small gain but probably not worth it. If you tune for 100 you gotta remember it's not available everywhere so you would limit yourself where you could travel.

I reckon if you have forced induction it would be added safety or more HP, but if you are at that point you probably would be looking at E85 anyways.

No negatives I can think of.
