feel free to make any other recommendations

all im really going by is the sound my mates ve ssv ute makes with an xforce catback. i like the back fire type noise it makes when you back off the throttle. the redback i have at the moment is too drony for me. im used to a manual so usually i just change up to quiet it down but with an auto it seems to sit at the wrong rev range too often and makes too much bad noise as opposed to the good exhaust noise when under power etc. hope that makes sense? maybe i just need to tinker with it, maybe 2 rear mufflers instead of 1 and some high flow cats....?

Re: JET-33's new ride - VY Clubby

Congratulations on the new car Andrew! Re exhausts - no point comparing a VE exhaust to pre VE as they're totally different. However, almost every XForce I've heard (VE and pre VE) has a distinct "hollow" sound to it which to me, and others I know, detracts from the sound. There are a few guys at Chev's now who can pick an XForce system just by listening to it idle.

I went 1 7/8 headers (hurricane), stock cats and twin 3" exhaust made by exhaust shop not off the shelf with hurricane mufflers on my vu.

No drone just bark in any gear and at cruise a proper (think old sbc sound) rumble.

As for the noise on decel just ask your tuner to overun the injectors on decel

The rig looks good mate. As Zorro states, the snap, crackle & pop on deceleration can be sorted in the tune. A lot of tuners switch deceleration fuel cut-off (DFCO) off in the tune. Get it turned back on and you'll get some crackling back.
