unfortunately i think it will have that horrible terrible bonnet over front guards styling like all new cars have today..

VE interior was wholey designed and fairly much signed off on in 2004, looking at the Torana concept time of that era. So thats pushing 8-9 yrs old next model year. I think a lot of VE owners would buy another VE just if bumpers, lights and interior was redone. The majority of the mechanical and body can stay the same. Series 2 bandaid interior upgrade was shithouse. I don't mind the cruZe SriV interior so perhaps something along those lines and i would happily upgrade into my 3rd VE

Pedestrian impact regulations certainly have an effect on how cars end up looking.
At this point it's best not to assume too much based off the com-gen images that have been getting around. Com-gens are almost always a best-guess assumption, and are more often than not motivated by a desire to sell more print, rather than any true knowledge of the car's genuine appearance.
True that.
Also, some manufacturers seem to conform to latest styling trends that have no practical reasons IMO.
Take the latest trend in door handles - they have gone away from aircraft style flush fitting handles that were low aerodynamic drag.
Surely in these times when they are chasing every bit of fuel economy, they would stay as they were.
i hope i dosent have those stupid ugly popeye head and taillights like camrys and mazdas do.
Also, looks like theyve ditched the VY style mirrors

New front and rear treatment will no doubt disappoint some , but that's life !
With many new car designs, I notice so many keyboard warriors commenting that it 'looks like a Subaru" or "they copied the Falcon headlights" .....well unless you let Homer Simpson build it , parts of the styling will always resemble some other make.
But like you say....no need for over-the-top popeye head and taillights that look so plasticy.

Just now looked at bottom of front wheel arch .
Commodore has front wheels way further ahead than that (width of fender between wheel arch and front door) .
Going by that ....it doesn't seem to be a commodore.

640rwhp of pure awesomeness
Vf from holden will be out this time next year. Vf from HSV about September next year I reckon.
Interiors should get a pretty major overhaul with some cool stuff included.
As always, just my opinion.
I just hope the rear end doesn't get the same bootlid line as the Cruze that fades out to nothing on the C-pillar and doesn't line up with the window line or anything else. Minor thing, I know, but I hate it. I kinda need lines on cars that have a logical start and end point.
I'm not holding my breath though as lots of recent GM designs have it. Pictures below so you can see what I mean.
