well after 3 pages do they say anything about the engine /running gear ??
640rwhp of pure awesomeness
So this thread is going to become a wank-off over whether the earlier shape is better than the current shape is it???
Like whichever gives YOU a boner. Don't try to make the world agree with you.
There was talk in "Wheels" (?) that talked of weight reductions, which are very welcome, but then stated a figure of 30kg. Anything more?
They reckon;
* Electric handbrake
* Power window controls move to doors
* Integrated boot spoiler for sport models
* Rear number plate moves to bumper, not boot lid
* 5.5l Gen V sometime in 2014, after launch in new Vette in 3rd quarter of 2013
* Ambient lighting
* Heated seats
* Keyless entry
They have the same spy photos from Wheels by the look of it, but one is a close up of some of the dashboard.
Article refers a lot to inside sources. But it read like a bit of a wish list.
Seems pretty reasonable, heated seats are already in a Cruze CDX, so the components exist. Do any GM cars from around the world have an electric handbrake? I heard that feature mentioned in the context of the current Jaguar XJ IIRC. Keyless entry (where you have a card) is available on plenty of GM's American cars so shouldn't be a problem (I think it was on the Pontiac G8 as was remote start so it technically it already exists on the VE albeit not activated here).
I don't mind the look of it.
Cheers, Matthew
I spent most of my money on unreliable cars and less reliable women, the rest I wasted.

Depends on what increases in standard equipment occur that add weight to the lighter core shell. The addition of some alloy panels is well known, as (to a lesser degree) is the removal of a few non-essential metal stampings.
But, I think we all need to be realistic that what is basically a mid life upgrade, be it a reasonably substantial one, can't possibly produce any miracle numbers.
Ripped off the Merc front bar...
Does anyone else think it's odd that we're seeing spy pics 18 months ahead of launch? IIRC we didn't see the VE until a few months out. Is it closer than we think?
Holdenmotorsport are debating if they should release it with v8 cotf at the start of 2013. So I would think its closer than 18 months.

I think it may be closer than we think.
With all this talk of the SS to be used in NASCAR at the beginning of the 2013 season and also speculation that the Holden teams in V8 Supercars starting the 2013 season with a VF.
This all suggests that we will see the VF before the end of this year.
