They have the same spy photos from Wheels by the look of it, but one is a close up of some of the dashboard.

Article refers a lot to inside sources. But it read like a bit of a wish list.
Yeah I reckon sounds pretty reasonable too. I've heard 2nd hand that they were goin to be spending 60% of the budget on updating interior features which included a touch screen for the radio and climate control. Don't know how true this is as he he wasn't my normal source.

The new Aurion is an all new model. VF is not an all new model. Much, much harder to pull weight out of an existing product than it is to design it into the core vehicle of a brand new model from the very start.
Think your expectations are perhaps a little unrealistic...

This all suggests that we will see the VF before the end of this year.
plus I think the slowly declining sales of the VE will push forward the release date of the VF.

Wouldn't the changing of the bonnet to aluminium save 10-20kg right there? Or am I expecting a bit much too?

maybe if it were made of polystyrene

The bonnet couldn't be much more than 20kgs at the moment.

Oh, and the VE looks like a dirty arse, and this representation of the VF looks like the used toilet paper after you've wiped

the VE Series 2 already has the touch screen, so I suspect it will carry over into the VF.

I'll wait and see what's under the bonnet before I make up my mind.

I don't think the fact the picture exists is odd. I'm sure Holden knows what it's doing. They could trying to get some feedback.

On the topic of VY / VZ Calais. VYII and VZ Calais is one of my favourite Holden shapes. VY SS and WK / WL Caprice have aged well. The only thing VY / VZ is missing is iPod integration stock.

This could suggest an earlier release though it would only be the chassis that would be needed for the race cars, just have to sit tight and see.

The chassis is not needed at all as they will all use the same COTF (Car Of The Future) chassis, the basic outside skin panels is what's needed!

Hard to tell from the camo, but they look bigger than VE lights and the images in Motor are definitely bigger. Hard to scan double pages at home, might try a photo.
