    Re: My LSX 454 Build

Well finally got it the engine to finish built, well for now anyway. Has been tuned up, road tested and pick it up tonight.

With the original cam in it, first custom cam, made 545rwhp, with the new cam, reseting the intake and changing to 2" headers, plus putting a new custom cam from the states in it, it has now made 625rwhp on a dynomax hub dyno, according to my tuner, it is insane, has well over 700nm torque, can't wait to drive it now.

Well what a disney dyno that was, and what a pig to drive, don't think I have driven anything that bad. I stuck with them for a while, thought it was the right thing to do, but when they started blaming parts and then said "its as good as I can get" they were releived of their duty and it was sent down to Mackay.

Best thing I ever did, been great ever since, might though look at another cam change eventually and raise the LSA to something like 114 to help manifold vacuum as it is struggling there, but talk about chalk and cheese.

Jezza dynoed it, made 408rwkw, then worked his magic, and make an average 413rwkw and 900nm torque, I am happier than I have been in a long time.

Yeah he goes good alright, mine has a few build issues but it is the best it has been I reckon, not really a fan of the NW TB though, doesn't seem to have the response of the stock GM one, just my opinion though, been like it since day 1 when it was put on.

Next will be change of cam, again, this time I will take advice from people who know more about cams than spec certain aspecs of it myself, ha ha, it was worth a try, hasn't totally failed but once again could be better.

Why don't you look at the performance defined 108mm intake/throttle? Looks like a good bit of kit.

Have you got the link? or is it the VCM unit? There just seems to be something about the NW that is not working at the moment, heard of a couple of people now going back to stock TB, but will look into it, I already have the FAST 102 intake though, need to see if it will fit onto it.

Yeah it's sold by VCM but is made by "Performance Defined", ex Harrop engineer.

I know the person you are talking about, it is Ken someone, Can't remember his last name now, but might look into it, or maybe just the TB if they do it, but almost $3k for the set up, would rather wait and go the harrop ITB.

Will just have to put up with it for a while until I decide which way to go.
