Motors cgi version is much better, camaro-ish taillights and overall a smaller appearance which if the rumors of considerable economy gains are correct then it still should be a viable vehicle. Manufactured in Australia maybe not but at least we will still have an 'icon' so to speak

The green ones are the same as Motor. It's heavily based on the new Malibu.

Isn't Holden bringing out the Malibu? If so I'd hope the VF doesn't have the same rear end as the Malibu, not that it looks bad but to have two cars with almost the same rear end would look a little weird.

Very cruze rear. One thing that I would have thought Holden wouldn't change is the side panel ie rear quarter near the tail lights as the cost would be quite high to redo the dies for stamping it. But then again maybe it's one of only a small handful of changes they're making on the exterior sheet metal to distinguish itself. I read reports doors and roof etc are all staying the same so Id have thought the rear quarter is something they could work with as is.

that's what happens when you graft a LHD Malibu rear end onto a Commodore to produce a cgi of the VF! in all seriousness, maybe Motor only had access (at the angle in its shot) to a LHD Malibu rear end.

I reckon even if the sedan rear quarters change, the cost would mean that the wagon and ute ones won't. Maybe even the Caprice as well given the low volumes these days.

I can't help myself with Holdens, I'm already thinking about whether I'd want an SS, SSV or Redline, sedan or wagon, when I might need to take my current SS off daily duties....oh dear.

On the topic of VY / VZ Calais. VYII and VZ Calais is one of my favourite Holden shapes. VY SS and WK / WL Caprice have aged well. The only thing VY / VZ is missing is iPod integration stock.

Here is a vid on how to make your stock Vy,VZ headunit run your ipod, personally I wouldn't try it but I would consider letting a shop do it for me looks sweet.

I haven't, but I've driven an Aurion and that's supposed to be quite good compared to FWD American stuff....and it was rubbish.

BTW, the US export announcement pretty much guarantees that the VF will have a generic-Chev front and rear, so expect it to look a lot like the Malibu and Impala as we were speculating earlier.

It saddens me to acknowledge that you're right. The impala is a styling POS.
