    Map Pocket Problem

Well the kids being kids have broken one of the map pockets in my wifes VY II 25th Anniversary Wagon. We had Blackmans leather put in when we bought the car new in 2004 but the map pocket is the original anthracite jobbie.
Holmart sell one that is advertised to fit VX II/VY/VZ for $135 so i call in to my local Holden dealer in Warrnambool and start a 30 minute conversation about map pockets.
After putting the VIN of the car in the computer, it tells us that you have to buy the complete plastic rear trim of the seat which includes a map pocket for $380 . Now we checked out a few other models, all have different part numbers but up until VX II and V2, they are sold as single items. The dealer had a VT one in stock that we had a look at, unfortunately i did not have the wife's car with me for comparison but it was the wrong colour anyway. I always find the people at Callaghans Holden very helpfull and this occasion was no different

My question: Does anyone know if the VX II pocket is the same as the VY? I really dont want to spend close to $400 on this.

I would go out on a limb and say yes. How ever I do vaguly remember a thread where you had to do a mod like drill an extra hole somewhere to make it fit. My advise would be to remove the map pocket and take that into the dealership to compare the lugs location
    I'm not a hoon, I'm just competitive

    Champion effort fiestl, much appreciated.
Is there any chance of taking a couple of pics side on at an angle so i can see the profile of the locating lugs and screwed lugs?

    Re: Map Pocket Problem

What the dealer told you is correct. Holmart's listing is incorrect.
Seats from VT-VY1 were in principle the same, with the replaceable map pocket. Models from VY2-VZ had a very different seat design, with Holden only selling the pockets as part of the rear plastic shell.
I've heard of people adapting earlier pockets to the later shell, but from memory it didn't end up looking as neat.

    Re: Map Pocket Problem

OK Guys, thanks for all the info everyone. I have removed and repaired the pocket and have attached photos of the VT Pocket i took at the dealer yesterday and the VY II Pocket i have just repaired.
There are Obvious differences in the design as advised by Davo

    First 3 of the VT

    Now the VY II
