HSV replaced the spoiler support with a new one, it is a common issue so they had spare supports in stock which surprised me!!!

Mate, just tell her the supercharger will give it better fuel economy.

But it's a seriously nice car! You should be absolutely wrapped with it!

    Re: Bonners white E3 Clubsport

Ok, so as I mentioned, I saw the trimmer yesterday re my seats. Out of pure luck, it looks like Im going to get out of doing my front GTS seats really cheaply. Now I do have a dilemma though.

This is what a clubsport interior looks like. Notice no double sticking in the middle panels of the seats. Simply, black panels.

Now, here is the GTS interior. Notice the double rows of stiching in the middle panels

Now my trimmer isnt fussed either way and isnt going to change the cost. But he has offered to either simply change the front seat leathers to the GTS ones (re-using the clubsport base and change leather to existing GTS leather and new GTS seat back with existing GTS leather) or leaving the base of mine as is and simply unstiching the middle panel of the existing GTS leather and swapping it out with the plain panel of my existing clubsport leather to create a plain leather similar to the clubsport seat.

Now, the benefits of doing option 1 is I get my seat leathers back and could possibly on sell them. But, IMO, I feel that if I simply change the leathers, it will kind of look like I have simply put GTS seats in my car. Whereas if we change out the middle panel, it kind of looks like the GTS seats were kind of meant to be there because the leather 'pattern' will match front to back. The only reason we thought about simply doing doing the GTS seats is the double stich pattern does kind of look good.

    Opinions.....

I'd go with the second option. Looking at the pics side by side are the GTS foams only different on the back? Looks like the base is the same and you mention keeping the same base????

When I looked at doing my E2 part of the overall cost was redoing the back seats to match the GTS front stitching. That ramped the cost up and I didn't end up doing anything because I was only keeping the car for 2 years. Well it is likely to be closer to 4 years since I am now waiting on the VF. Sorry I didn't get it done. If I had had the 2nd option at the time I would definately have done that.

Just go full gts interior if you got money to burn and lack originality

I wouldn't have thought the gts seats are any more supportive than the clubby ones. Perhaps make do with redesigning your own centre panels and put the rest towards doing the door panel leathers in the same pattern. My red hot panels were nice but lacked any real detail so I'd imagine your panels aren't much different.

... Something to be said about having the clubsport logo stitched into the leather just above the horizontal seam that already exists (only a small logo, towards the back of the door)... And new stitched leather design from the seam down that matches the seats...It's the little things

I'd be impressed with that, not some hack who's put gts seats in his clubby

I know what you mean about originality. Hence trying to be different. Simply, my trimmer had just removed the leathers from a brand new GTS as the owner wanted different interior. So the yard sent the car to the trimmer, he pulled them off and changed it. He therefore has a set to onsell cheaply. He said it was quite easy to simply unstitch the centre panel of the GTS and put the centre panel from my clubsport leather. To me that kind of makes me think that the seats would then be simple in look but look like that’s how they came from the factpry. Whereas if you simply change it to the GTS one and not change the back one, it kind of just looks like you ve simply scored GTS seats and installed. I don’t have money to burn hence trying to do little. And yes mate, I do think the seats are a lot different.

Yes, we discussed putting the clubsport logo in but in the headrest. Perhaps in the centre as you suggest is a better idea. The other thing was that I always felt that the headrests were the same from clubby/SS to GTS. But appreantly not. If mine don’t fit, then it appears I will have to cough up $100 a seat for those.

I have been toying with the thought of getting the white stitching in the leather my car changed to yellow....
