if you have lowered the car and have extractors you may be better going to Just Car to at least get some cover, you can shop around later to check on prices.
Go with pay by the month till you decide
Give Shannon's a go. Great for mods and on par or cheaper then the rest.
2004 VY 2 SS. Soon to be 2012 VE 2 Thunder SS.
Got a letter from NRMA and they dropped the agreed value and raised my monthly?? Gave Shannon's a buzz and they kept it insured @ 40k and was cheaper monthly..
As stated above, Shannon's seems to be the go.. NRMA didn't mind my mods but they can now blow it out their arse altogether cos they didn't wanna come to the table with a better offer, even after 10 years as a customer..
Even with the discounts the big 3 usuals were offering, Shannon's won hands down for service, mods accepted, agreed value etc.

The only problem with shannon's is their online application is so long and tedious
I would avoid the NRMA based on my experience.
ive just moved 2 car policies from allianz to nrma and im saving $70 a month. And as said above mods arent a problem,so based on that they get my vote.
NRMA for me.
Both VE and VT (both with mods) covered without question, with NRMA knowing the mods and for an agreed price I'm happy with.
The critical factor here is the OP's age, which he didn't mention. I suspect given what he was told that he's under 25 in which case typically only JustCar will insure him (usually with a huge excess).
Once you reach 25, assuming a reasonable history, many others will insure cars with mods though usually not the no-frills players like Coles etc.. My ute is insured with AAMI with all mods, including cam, listed and with a high agreed value, for just over $1,000 even after an at fault claim last year. However, as mentioned a squizillion times before, location is a major factor in price so quoting premiums means SFA unless you include info such as location, rating, agreed value etc..
That's all covered in dozens of threads already.See http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/search.php?searchid=312385 (or if that doesn't work just search on "AAMI NRMA Shannons" - you'll find heaps of reading!!!).
PS Interesting that the OP starts a "need info ASAP" thread at 10:53AM, logs off not long after and hasn't bothered logging back on again. I'm guessing Gen Y.![]()
