I've heard stock ones going 320rwkw+ plus their stock times vs weight Indicates they have a bit in them. I'm not biased to any manufacturer I own and have owned all sorts of cars I just don't understand brand loyalty but based on current offerings from hsv I'd be back in the Ford no question. I just can't get over the current hsv range they're just too over the top and look cheap like someone designed it using a super cheap auto catalog.

Of course, if being a tenth of a second or so quicker over the quarter floats your boat, well that's fine, it's just that things are a bit different, when ya start to go around corners.
    Cheers, Pickles.

This is exactly the same benchmark M3 owners use when they talk about the C63 being a little bit quicker in a straight line and making a lot of noise while doing it.

The M3 is the full package like the HSV and the C63 is faster if it doesn’t have to corner like the argument being used against the PFV.

Personally I think there is a lot more to car selection (preference) than something being said to be the full package.

Ha ha ha...no worries at all....I've heard that one before...we bought a new C63 this year!
    Cheers, Pickles.

That's why I mentioned a "comparison" GTS/FPV.
HSV is still, of course, using the venerable LS3, which IMHO is an absolutely brilliant engine. Sure the Miami has 8KW more.....that is not "dominant" in my book.....but I think I know what you mean.....so yes....it DOES have more power.......and I'm sure we are all aware that it's taken a Supercharger to get there....to get that 8KW "advantage".....and that's all it is, in my book anyway, an "advantage"...and boy, didn't FPV need it...the previous "Boss" engine was a boat anchor.
So yes, FPV have gone smaller capacity with F.I., which is what many manufacturers, AMG, BMW, etc etc are doing.....I reckon HSV will go down this track too, because GM have a 5.5L (Gen V is it) in the wings...don't think it's in a car yet, but I think next year, it will be. So, that's probably what they'll do, but there is a chance, that I've posted about already, that HSV were going to produce a S/C car for their 25th Anniv......I was really confident about it.....but looks like I was wrong....because I've heard nothing recently, although I do know that Commodores with the AWESOME LSA (6.2 S/C) have been whizzing around Lang Lang.
So HSV can go F.I. anytime they want, & I reckon they will.....when they see the need. In the meantime though, I really don't hear too many complaining about the LS3....I've bumped into a couple of mates lately....one's bought a Grange, the other a Senator......both really happy....no worries at all about power.
    So yep, 8KW "advantage"?......For sure...but FPV REALLY needed "something" didn't they?...Well now they've got a ripper engine.
I'll be really interested in the GTS/RSpec comparison?
    Cheers, Pickles.
Go drive one and learn first hand how much better they are. 8kw. Yeah my arse. Hell I've seen a stock one make 80rwhp more than a stock c63

Can’t deny the fact 286rwkw from a stock motor is excellent, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAYxT...eature=related but the styling isn’t aggressive enough for me, looks just like an XR6 with a bonnet bulge and the interior/appointments just don’t compare with what HSV have to offer. The LS3 also sounds better imo, but hey I am a bit biased lol.

Wow really. The 5l sounds bloody awesome even without pipes. Almost merc like. The blower whine just adds to an awesome note

Clearly not, HSV outsells FPV nearly 3-1! Looks are subjective.

It's ok to own up to this. I mean, macca_779 takes every opportunity to tell this Holden forum how much love he has for the FPV engines, so really you are just balancing the ledger...

Very true. Just like men's choice in what women they are attracted to.
Perhaps I'll describe the two cars like this.
FPV- Bit of a plain girl you don't really notice when you look, but a firecracker if you shag her. Although a firecracker, she's not really as fit as she could be overall, and slightly uncomfortable at times. A one trick pony perhaps.
HSV- The loud, hot slutty type everyone looks at when at a party. Some think their wishes would come true if they could marry her, whereas others feel she's definitely not a keeper with her need to attract male attention. But, she's fit and loving behind the brash exterior so worth delving deeper than initial impressions suggest.

Obviously a 50 Shades of Grey fan. Considering this is a yet to be released model you could also call the FPV the fat girl that would shag anything, in fact both cars are the fat girl when you compare to a real performance car. Just that these fat girls put on lots and lots of make up.

I think the cars get released to the media today.

hahahah so basically the hsv is a slut and the fpv is one you would let meet your mother but not keep around long term?

thats one of the best analogies i have ever seen to explain hsv and fpv!

I think macca_779's comments on this thread have been rather constructive actually David.
Having myself driven a couple of the 335 FPV's myself, I would have to say that I think their drive trains are heaps better than the HSV's.

Having owed an LS3 6M Maloo and now a GT335 I would have to agree with you!
