Catalytic converter burning off. My guess is the temp they allow.
Why do most late model Falcon's exhaust's smell particularly bad? Moreso than other makes and models.
When you follow a Falcon, even on the highway, they stink.
Any logical reasons? Exhaust components? This is not meant as a piss take.

Can't say that I've noticed this. Maybe it's the eco-lpi models ??

Taxi drivers not used to showering???
As other posts have indicated, catalytic converters not working properly. However, can't say I've noticed any smell from Fords, Toyota cars on the other hand are very bad and I can't see how they can get away with it.

It was long before the eco-lpi models. EA - EB's exhaust smelt like rotten eggs in the early 90's when they were new. Cant say Ive noticed it on EF to AU models though. On BA onwards, they only seem to smell strong of exhaust odour when the driver guns them away when overtaking on the highway. Or full throttle acceleration.Originally Posted by Peter B - CV8
As for the cause - On the EA -EB's, may have been the manufacturer of the batch of Catlytic converters used on these models?
For BA on - Rich factory tune (ECU feeding it more fuel) under heavy acceleration?
Simply because they are FORDs !! Found On Rubbish Dump !!!!!!!!!
