whats the point of having soo much power that it just shreds tyres? My ls2 is a handfull already in my VZ,
in fact its soo bad that forget the 0-100 as its pretty much useless.
Mate....They do...if ya want them to.
Ask my daughter...Just before I sold our VZ GTO, I visited her, & upon leaving, after turning off the traction control,.....I left.....impressively......and "smokingly".....no problem in shredding the tyres at all!!
Cheers, Pickles.
yeah i keep forgetting to try it, as im used to turning of the crappy system tat was on the ls1 cars lol
but thats way off topic.
these days technology is keeping up with our want for power upage. Traction controls are very adaptive these days and even launch control will help you use all this new power easily and over and over all day safely. 10 years ago performance cars didnt need TC or LC as they didnt have enough power.
So those that say power levels are enough.....go do some research on how supercars do it...because these are the things that filter down to our super sedans and make them safe and efficient to have MORE power.
Imagine a VT with 325kws hahah everything else stock.
One would reasonably expect that since we are talking road cars here, then road is the natural hunting ground. Don't you agree???
But, if you insist on talking track to defend the comment, a genuinely good driver knows that unless the tyres are gripping, you can't maximise your rate of acceleration, braking and cornering- the very factors that give you your gun lap time. Wheelspin, skidding, understeer and oversteer cost both time and compromise car control.
The biggest problem on the roads is that some people THINK they have exceptional driving skills like these top level race drivers, and can easily drive their way out of a potentially dangerous situation because of their (self judged) abilities. These are the types I think we are talking about...![]()
