Stuck on interior colour scheme, please help

    Hi Guys,
Ive hit a wall with the interior. I have posted a picture for your thoughts. Im looking for an E3 triple cluster but it is very difficult to source a secondd hand unit. I really think the plastics around the IQ and extending past the hand brake need something done, but I just dont know what.

I reckon the shiny black of the IQ and AC controls looks a bit odd in contrast to the matt finished surround you are describing. Maybe make plastics around the IQ and beyond a nice shiny black?

Don't you think that will be overkill on the piano black?
Maybe a carbon fibre wrap or suede?

That picture just makes me miss my VY SS again!

Nice job though, I too like the idea of getting rid of the shiny plastic.

It does a good job of hiding the double DIN adaptor plate which never matched the factory trim very well.

I actually got an E3 HSV surround of eBay, to go with my Holden IQ system. I checked pretty regularly and one came up - emailed the guy and said how much as I knew how rare they are and bought it. I can't bring myself to look at the matt finished circle vents so the money is worth it IMHO.

I was thinking of the suede covered transmission cover myself, I am not one for piano black myself

I have been looking for months with no dice. The only e3 pod I hsv seen is jhp's which is $565 for plastic trim!

Yeah I know what you mean, I paid $350 for the lot which I thought wasn't too bad considering the alternative.

$350 is a bargain. Jhp sell the E3 triple gauge set complete for just under $1200!
I found the standalone gauges for $250, now I need the trim, wiring and ducts

That didn't include the gauges, just the cover and vent ducting parts. I've got three from my current ve series 1 surround which I'll transfer.

I check regularly so if I find one ill let you know.

Ok I see, that would be really good mate.
I just realised I still have the vents and ducting from my series one stereo! That's just saved me a few dollars.
    Looking at this picture http://jhp.com.au/holdenve/InteriorA...-gauges2-h.jpg
All I need now is the trim piece, bracket and the wiring harness with the yellow end on it
