Will they only be made to fit on VE's? I'm currently looking for a SC and I have a VZ LS2

Yeah, that is what I thought when I first saw it....There has been a lot of work put into this to make it look O.E.
I like engine covers myself, but this unit, when fitted, looks that good, that I may have to change my mind. The images shown here are good, but pale into insignificance, when you see it in the flesh.
    Cheers, Pickles.

That is a good looking blower.

Steve those inlet temps are impressive. What boost levels and duration of wot was that measured at?

For reference, the intake temps I see on my 1900 are an absolute minimum of mid to high 20's on a cold night, to a minimum of 60 or so on a hot day in traffic. If that hot day minimum can be reduced it'd be a huge win.

Yeah assuming the temps Steve was referring to are with modest boost i.e 8psi+ and represent WOT for more than just a 10sec pull on a dyno its impressive. If they are just nominal driving conditions, then yes nothing special.

    Hi Steve,

Congrats. The blower looks awesome. I contacted Harrop to buy their FDFI unit but they aren't interested in moving units. Hopeless customer service. Can you please PM me regarding pricing for the blower only please. I require a FDFI type blower for a custom setup.

    Many thanks.
    Nigel.

    P.S.
How is it for noise? The Harrop unit is surprisingly quiet. Is this unit also fairly quiet?

It may not be comparable. The heartbeat iat sensor is placed in a different position to the Htv. Htv places it on the outlet very close to the head/ block ... The true result will be a back to back comparison on the same car / test.

One of the isues we noticed with having the IAT so close to the head and only close to a single cylinder is that the reading can be influenced by factors that are not consistent with the actual air temperature. These include the sensor becoming coated with contaminants like fuel & oil vapour; sensor reaction times being inconsistent due to the sensor housing becoming heat-soaked; and having the sensor reading the temperature of a single cylinder that may/is not representative of an average.
After considering these issues & seeking input from GM/OEM calibrators, it was determined that a more central position would provide better data. The HeartBeat IAT sensor is consistent with the design intent GM used on the LS9 & LSA.
