Thats moving!
Took my ve down to WAW tonight, after a few tweaks to the ecu tune to fix hitting the rev limiter between the 2nd to 3rd shift.
1st run - 11.2
2nd run - 11.0
and on the 3rd run I got a 10.689 @ 132.25 mph (213kph)
4th run was a 10.9 with wheelspin. the next 3 runs were low 11's thanks to wheelspin.

Well done mate!
Very good David, well done. Nothing wrong with A6s...
Awesome results mate..
Fantastic work buddy![]()
Awesome #'s!
I remember back in the day if you had a true 13 second car on the street you were King!
Well done![]()
That's a great effort - I'm working on a 10sec run in my NA VE stroker.
What tyres are you using and what gearbox mods have you done?
Regards, Dan
Thats great work David, you are making atleast 700 hp at crank to do that.. TO be able to run a ten u need a lot of hp, which isnt an issue in this day and age, A full weight VE needs a genuine 600-650 HP to get there. 550 hp is not enough, wheel dyno sheets showing 500 rwhp does not guarentee u a ten sec pass. The e38 and those heads are very sensitive to airfuel changes and timing and the tuner has to get these correct. I see ppl running timing curves all over the place, it just needs SIMPLE tuning with the air fuel ratios and timing in the correct place at the track.. not so much the dyno.. Petrol is sensitive to air changes. The reason we are getting more consistent results with e85 is it has a bigger tuning window, load, weather changes do not effect it no where near as much as petrol.. If you keep things simple, with correct timing and air fuel.. and u have genuine HP and ur transmission is setup it will get there.. Being out 1 degree of timing and running stupid dips will just hurt the engines acceleration rate dramatically. Only if the engine is not sensitive to timing etc, or running on alcy will see consistent results to the track.. I dont care what anyone thinks.. If you want tens out of your VE and u want the BEST time.. do your baseline dyno and get the track and finish it like real drag racers do as these things are that sensitive to air changes. This is where people are failing..
I think it is more your tuning skills. I know u have been at it a long time. And you have been persistent, and its finally happened! I also know you and I are very like minded in the way we tune. Getting tens out of VE's is relatively simple on paper but it is not easy, the e38 is more challenging hence why so many ppl give up trying to get results. You have the mechanical/technical mind to make it happen and u have patience.. And this proves the A6 works. The later model VE's still have issues when going mafless that is pcm related with torque models, and there is still more work to be done there as it does not solve the problems, the earlier models are fine.. When u run slicks though and launch hard it will push the oil to the rear.. So many people focus on engine oiling but not transmission. I have worked on advanced hydraulic systems all my life and when u get air in any system it simply does not work. And the noise it makes sounds like it is doing damage.. It is doing major damage.. All common sense stuff really. I am glad u got there as it seams since the VE has come out drag racing is dead because of the A6.. When its not the A6 at all, its the non believers behind it. Well done mate, Hope u go faster soon.

Tyres are just cheapo Achilles ATR Sports.
Apart from the torque convertor, the only thing modified on the trans is removal of oil cooler circuit in radiator and an external cooler.
as there was hardly any people at the track last night, by the time i left the trans temps were at 109 degree's, 90 by the time i got home.

Would have been a 10.5 Dave if ya cleaned your car first haha
Well done mate

Hats of to you Dave
The hard work has paid off
Cooler is just a small one i got from an auto store. eventually i'll put my big oil cooler back on, but i hardly drive the car thanks to my fifo job.
The next big event for the car is a 1000m event running locally in April next year, so i plan on changing the harrop out for a 2.9lt whipple as im hoping to crack 260/270kph.
