The VE has been torque restricted from factory to 550Nm to protect the 6-speed auto and maybe other things, however i believe they are meant to be improving the driveline to allow for more torque.
That is why the W427 was only available in the manual version.
I did a typo in the first one sorry meant to be 550Nm not 350Nm.
I keep on hearing the direct injection is actually a step back in terms of reliability. I've heard of all the Audi/VW people with Direct Injection have issues the heads needing a clean up every 10,000kms or something ridiculous to stay fresh, and apparently other manufacturers have that issue too.
Can anyone shine any light on that?
a HSV with a 'R' in it?
easy. A HSV HRT edition. Like my VZ![]()
A thought. HSV have traditionally fitted their engines with extractors, the LT1 makes 335kw with standard headers, a set of extractors might release a few more.
But yes LS3 until sometime in 2014 then LT1.
Cheers, Matthew
I spent most of my money on unreliable cars and less reliable women, the rest I wasted.

fuk... and here i was thinking parts were about to get cheaper lol haha
hurry up and swap engines already so ls3's are old news, only been killing them since 2008........
640rwhp of pure awesomeness
I think we will see the GTS for a while yet...HSV may slim down their range a little, not sure on what their sales numbers are like and what sells well for them. For example never see any new Senators or Granges driving around....
However, alot of the variance between HSV models is minimal, so I expect little to no change....
Does anyone here have actual HSV sales figures for 2012???
