Just read on caradvice that Holden SS and SSV will have the 6.2ltr.

I was hoping for the LT1 to make an appearance, but nonetheless that's a nice line-up of engines.
Might be counting your chickens a little too early. That article says: "Engine details were revealed by Chevrolet at the US launch of the Chevrolet SS, which will run down the same production line as its Holden Commodore SS near-twin in Adelaide from later this year."
Wouldn't be the first time an export model got the larger engine that was locally reserved for HSV while the local equivalent still has the 6.0L. Until the information is released by Holden specifically saying the local VF gets it, I wouldn't count it as gospel.
Not surprised at all Macca, this is how Holden views and treats its loyal customers

I buy almost every luxury consumer item I can from North America or the UK, if its ok for businesses to use the buying power of the AU dollar, why cant I as a consumer do the same?
The prob here is the price, ok you want consumers to pay more, give more, make LT1 standard, 8 speed auto standard, ffs put in 60/40 rear seats, load the car up with accessories and features optional on other cars
Last trip over to the US, an 2 year old AMG C63 sedan could be bought for 28K, how can GM compete with that? They cant
Once again another poorly researched article comparing MRSP which does NOT include state and local taxes with drive away pricing which includes GST, stamp duty rego etc.
The Gas gzzlers tax addes up to $7700 to a new car price that isn't included in the MRSP http://www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/guzzler/420f12068.pdf

As a starting step hopefully the next government will get rid of the luxury car tax. the AMG C63 sells for $155K, that includes roughly $15K GST at the retail end and $25K of Luxury Car Tax (LCT). Since GST is levied on the LCT, if the LCT was scrapped then a C63 would be $128K.
A BMW F30 335i currently sells for $92K, that is around 9K of GST and $9K of LCT, get rid of LCT and a 335i would be $82K. A HSV GTS at $83K has around $7.5K of GST and $5.5K of LCT, get rid of the LCT and it would be $77K.

The reference in 'The Age Drive' article about the 6.2 litre can be read in two ways, it however does make reference to the Holden SS and the Chevrolet SS as having different engines, not really sure which one they are saying gets the 6.2L. The article is about the Chevrolet SS so is it the one getting the 6.2L?
Cut and paste from the article below:
"The new VF Commodore SS-V is similar in specification to the upcoming US-spec Chevrolet SS, but it gets the bigger, more powerful 6.2-litre engine from the HSV ClubSport that sells for $66,990 drive-away."
The Pontiac G8 GXP, ie our VE SS with an LS3 incurred $1700 GGT, see below

Yes, there would be what the yanks call "destination charge" but still, I don't think we in Australia are doing brilliantly with the pricing here.
