Already the 6.00ltr has been around at least 7 years. I cannot recall the 5.7 lasting this long as it came in and ended in the 3rd generation Commodore VT11 till VZ which was about 5 or 6 years at most.
I cannot see them supercharging the whole fleet. GTS maybe to distinguish it from the rest of the pack, like it should be.

Not 100% on the years but I'm thinking 98-05 for the LS1 in Commodore models which is 7 years. Definitely around for more than 5... but what about the old 5L, that was around for a long time so it's not like they are going to change it up just for the sake of it.

LS1 was from VT II late 1999 to end of 2005, a bit over 6 years. I doubt the VF will be 6.2 unless production of the 6.0 is scheduled to end.

Yeah I'm calling BS on this. An SS with 309kw? No way. Maybe a detuned variant of a 6.2, definitely not that level of power though. As for HSV they need to have a supercharged motor to compete with FPV, without going bigger in capacity IMO.

Caradvice are the only ones saying that the SS will get the L99. I hope they are right and everybody else is wrong.

The L99 has AFM and E85 and is 298kw hence HSV will still have a significant Power advantage if it comes out with a small upgrade .(330kw)

Jac001 - Price for a loaded Charger SRT8 with 6.4 Hemi, 8 speed auto, and 60/40 rear is msrp $45K, reality is buyers are paying around $30-35 tops from auction results, what happens is bid doesnt make reserve, highest bidder talks to seller, car sells for somewhere in the middle through negotiation, if no reserve, it would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

    2012 with stuff all mileage

Talk about wages being lower in the US is propaganda and bs, most buyers who buy a car at 30-40K US are not flipping burgers at Maccas earning $5 US an hour, think about it when you have BMW, Audi and AMG pricing their cars at similar price ranges, not brand new but relatively new 1 or 2 years

My source has given me this as gospel

    2013-14 VF current spec 6.0

2013-14 VF HSV LS3 325KW spec. GTS, LSA motor, Cost around 100k.

Late 2014 Early 2015 SS to get detuned LS3 (L99) and HSV to get LT1 motors

    Unfortunately that all makes sense.

Yep they will certainly lose buyers to the GT if they did that.

As odd as I find it. That hasn't happened yet.

The only thing mildly disappointing is that the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is going to get a version of the LT1 so I don't know why there needs to be a delay for Holden. At least the current engines are proven.

The new GTS will hopefully be seen as more of an AMG competitor as the LSA is a serious engine.

    http://www.caradvice.com.au/215006/h...-v8-commodore/

Caradvice just said Holden gave in and admitted we will be getting carry over engines across the board as it says the SS will also get the carry over 6.0L, 6.2L L99 for export only.
Seems to put the L99 in our cars would push the price up too much.
One gets the feeling that we are getting shafted just so that they can export more cars at cheaper price.
Unfortunately this also happens in the parts business, eg Yella Terra Roller rockers are cheaper in the states than we pay whole sale here.

Cant help but feel like a ****ing chump at that news. Why not give us a choice to chose which engine we want? Dont know if I want a VF now, even in 2015 when the V8's get an upgrade.
