Wagon and Sedan are exactly the same. (Ute is different)
I put a set of GTS rears on my SSV (manual) wagon - it gives it a much better note (SSV ones were almost silent), and even better again if you put the headers on also. But all in all, if you can change the cans then do so... takes 5 minutes.
No use putting on the CATback section as that bit is exactly the same as the GTS.
I have GTS headers and CATs on mine and a XForce catback section - I now switch between the XForce rears and the GTS ones. I put the GTS ones on for long travel as they are much quiter and do not drone - put the XForce ones on for round town noise!!
I think you will find that ALL wagons (Series 1 > now) have the (as described "AFM Mufflers" ) ie, Y pipe coming out to the tips, threads from 2007 (if you search a little) the wagon needed this wee bit of adjustment due to drone.
Internals of the muffler are still the same as far as I am aware.
Awesome info, thanks. Now, does anyone know how the bi-modal system works? I can get a set of rear cans for $100 but don't know how or if it is possible to get them working manually.
I think the bimodal is vacuum, you can have them all the way open tho, on another forum can't remember which one but it explains how to do it.
the threads name was like
E3 bimodal system can it be tuned.
search it in![]()
At the risk of me getting strike three and you're outthe bimodal system works on vacuum, I believe somehow integrated into the EDI system. Without a lot of mucking around probably not worth doing - if you want a functioning aftermarket bimodal look at the HM 3" bimodal (see APS sponsor section).
