Hi guys
Need help.
Does anybody know who can reprogram ve dash clusters in melbourne?
Mine stopped working after i changed the battery so i bought a second hand one with less kilometers and now need somebody to re program it to the cars current k's.
Local holden dealers dont want to touch it unless they use a new cluster but i dont have that kind of money to spend.
Any help welcome.

It will only bite you in the ass if you get caught reprogramming to incorrect KMs as they RTA now record your odometer, plus all your service records have odometer reading and dates etc. Pretty hard to successfully do it with all your cars associated paper work.
Reason why Holden won't touch it cause it's second hand & the Tech 2 is not capable of changing any cluster with more than 100kms on them!
You need to source an instrument Co. who can directly interrogate the inbuilt eeprom chip built into the cluster & carryout the necessary change, mind you it won't be cheap!
AFAIK nobody in Melbourne can do it but Justin (doubledip) in Sydney can as he even eventually got an E3 cluster to work in my SSV!
There used to be a guy down on the Mornington Peninsula who could do them as given a reference to him in another thread on here I tried to get in contact with him but couldn't get a reply. Later found out he'd apparently disappeared along with various bits and pieces people had sent him!![]()
Thanks for the info guys.
I have been doing some research on this matter.
Tech 2 does not have the capabilities to carry out 2nd hand cluster reprogramming anymore. Apparently the took the software out 6 years ago.
I called a few contacts in Melbourne and all have said the same thing it is very hard to reprogram a cluster due to the vin numbers not matching, codes ect.
I sent the original cluster to get repaired but came back still not working issue with power supply.
Only option is to get a new cluster and get Holden to program it to my car. (cost $900.00 including cluster) ouch!!!!!!!!!!!
Just curious, but is there a legislative requirement to change the kms? Surely there's a certificate or something that yuo can get and have it recorded agains the cars VIN.
sorry to dig up an old thread but who's the best to talk to im in W.A 3 people were recommended sydney double dip and justin..
Justin = Doubledip and is based in sydney.
I get him to do all my wiring and related programming when i can't be bothered.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.
