    Cross 8 Exhaust

My son-in-law's father has just bought a Cross 8 and wants to put extractors, exhaust and OTR on it and has asked me to do some finding out for him, but I know nothing about them. I'm pretty sure I've read that they use different extractors but what about the catback? Do they use just a standard catback? Normal OTR?

    Thanks,
    Gary

Found these on eBay and there is a couple more too, not bad price either...

There is also a post on the forum from Sureflow Exhausts, it's got pricing on it too for systems I think.

Pacemaker do a CrossTrac specific set, Difilipo do a much nicer set as well (I have them on my car) and their service is second to none.

Catback will need to be an Adventra/ Wagon specific part due to the wheelbase, OTR anything will fit but I'd be concerned if they intend taking it offroad at all.

Mainly towing I think. He has got a pretty big boat to tow around and I know in the past he has had some well set up serious off road vehicles so can't envisage him considering using this for serious off road work.

With these things I'd keep it simple. Two hole mod and leave it alone. They scream for a strong low to mid range cam though

Thanks Macca. I'd already suggested the two hole mod to James (son in law) as a good option but I also think his dad wants to hear that it's a V8.

    Wonks,

Dont know if you remember my tug down at Chevs but I will tell you what I think if he is towing a big load, I tow 2500kg, all depends how much tow ball weight we are talking.

    1) If it has 97 load rated tyres get rid of them needs at least 101/103 load rating.

    2) For the auto B&M Deep pan and the biggest tranny cooler you can fit I have a 11 X 12 inch(about to fit a FAN for hills), and DEX 6 not DEX 3, this is from logging the auto temps whenever I tow..

    3) Air bags on the back, dont do the springs I learnt the hard way.

    4) Headers, exhaust and cats, yes, I would probably go Hurricane with the lot and get them coated they have a wholesaler in Dandenong, much cheaper. If he can afford it go the difillipo.

    5) OTR nothing with a MAF unless you go RAMJET or MAFLESS DUS, personal choice, I have a HSV air box with monaro shroud like IJ.

    6) Tune and if he can afford it a CAM, the tug develops its torque to high up, all the above will help slightly but really needs a CAM or as CHEV told me BLOW IT. I will be putting a 216/222 @114 around June/July.

    7) I currently get using 98 and no tune with shorty headers and twin 2.5inch when towing 21ltrs per 100km.

    Hope it helps.
