A few things I quickly picked up from the brochure -

    1. Only the redline gets staggered rims....19x8.5 and 19x9 - 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 tyres

    2. Spare wheel is OPTIONAL on all models $350 for my Calais V

    3. Light titanium leather trim is only available as an option on Calais V.... for me as that is what I have ordered

    4. No kerb weights so any weight savings made will be taken up by adding a spare rim/tyre

SSV Redline has rain sensing wipers. I wanted confirmation on that.

To bad it doesn't have the puddle lights on doors. Driving in the country and parking in the middle of nowhere, its useful to see if theres a nice brown snake waiting for you before you step on it.

Also i noticed that the car has Launch Control, but it doesn't state if its Manual Only.

    Cant wait for delivery

To some it might be the ultimate road trip, while for others it could be a 23-day torture test behind the wheel.

Fairfax’s Drive team today embarked on Australia’s longest road test – a 14,514km lap of Australia designed as the ultimate test of a car on the ropes, Holden’s new VF Holden Commodore.

Leaving from Sydney two drivers will spend a combined 187 hours behind the wheel through every state, territory and capital city in Australia.

From the challenging – and potentially icy - Snowy Mountains and twisting Tasmanian roads to Australia’s longest piece of straight bitumen on the Nullarbor Plain and the red dirt and heat of the Top End, the V6-powered $46,990 Calais V will experience a year’s worth of driving in less than a month.

Review from CarAdvice on SS and SSV. Get's a very good writeup, I do a fair bit of work with these guys and it takes a good piece of kit to impress them.

Why on Earth does the Holden website still have the VE models taking pride of place?

Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics - Part 3

Starting to see quite a few of them out and about in Adelaide's north, particularly a dark green Calais (DRLs are super bright when it is overcast).

Going past the factory this morning there was a whole stack of VFs in the yard with green stockies on - didn't see the badges so not sure if they are Chevs headed overseas or are about to head to Vic to be finished as HSVs. Think some had uncoloured bumpers so maybe HSVs - do the Chevs get their wheels and bumpers fitted at the Beth before shipping or are they fitted in the states?

Green stockies looked weird and is what attracted my attention when driving past - funny how you can get used to things, as didn't look twice seeing VEs headed for HSV with yellow stockies after seeing the first couple of truckloads.
