Tune them both then let's compare dicks I reckon. Stock is meh
I will say, before any comparison is made......and I don't have any Holden/Ford/"Dark Side" "bias", like some very obviously do, on this forum (I was one of only 315 lucky owners of a, FORD, Focus RS Turbo, & what a HUGE car that was), that the GTS will absolutely "Cream" the GT. And it won't be in just any "simplistic" standing 400m rubbish....Just wait until ya hear/read about the absolute "driving" of this car....what it's like to "live" with.....Ya'll then, maybe, understand, what 3.5 years of R & D is all about......Wait & See....ya haven't got long to wait.....BUT, I can hear the knockers already,...waiting to "have a go"!
Cheers, Pickles.
Which ones were better?
These comments really shite me to tears, If you buy a something just for it's straight line grunt, buy a damn motorcycle? The FPV has two things going for it....The ZF gearbox and the 5.0l S/V8, other than that the HSV has it in spades. In fact the HSV slusher is a fair bit better in sequential mode. The brakes are better as is the handling, the interior and seating position is also far superior in the HSV and that is just the VE let alone the VF.

To judge a car on speed based on price is ridiculous, if straight line grunt is top of your list, that is fine but there is more to a car then it's 0-100km/h time.
If all the GTS has is grunt it will probably fail to win over many people with the money the spend, but if the much discussed improvements to the interior and refinement live up to the hype I can see them selling pretty well at the price. If I hadn't just bought a 3 year old E500, I would be down top the Holden dealership checking one out when they are release for sure.
The same shit again. Fpv vs hsv. Straight line vs overall package bla bla bla. Gts has this and that etc. well for 100k it bloody should. 100k people. And most of what's inside is in the Calais v at 50k.
Gt is a brilliant car and much more of a car than any daily duties require. Oh, that's right, you're gonna track it!
I've had a gt for over 2 years. Many loaners in that time all sc or f6's. they are bloody fast. Oh, that's right, if you want to go fast buy a bike. Yeah, cos that's the same thing. If you want to tow, buy a tractor using the same logic.
The fpv has two things, auto and motor. Too bloody right! It's a grand tourer.
My gt ran a 12.5 at 114. My senator ran a 13.1 at 105. The gts would want to be quick. I don't care what it does on a track. I ain't going to track it. 0-100 and 400m are not relevant? What a crock of shit. Every manufacturer quotes it and markets it. Amg, m division, RS division, gtr etc etc. it's the benchmark of the worlds most exclusive performance cars (amongst other straight line parameters).
Oh, and the gt will still spank every other hsv in the gen f range. The sc motor is standard in the fpv, not a 100k special. But I forgot, that's not important right!
The gts will be quicker, no doubt. By how much time will tell. It has to be.
And by the way, I am seriously considering a gts.
0-100km/h is more relevant than circuit times. You can do 0-100 on "the street", even if it needs to be a country road. There aren't many people game enough to play Gran Turismo through the streets these days though
What really matters is hp/L...
Word is this is one very impressive range. Outside of the gts, the rest of the range is said to be a great combination of traction, ride quality, refinement, sophistication and the 340 spec is noticeably better.
I couldn't make it last week to have a drive and cars have been cleaned and waiting for media to pick them up so will be a week or so till I sample them. I am looking forward to it.
i reakon at best they'll run a 12.3 around 118mph.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.
