The windscreen was removed and reinstalled and both guards were filed back and repainted. So yes it can happen.

I had a similar issue with my MY10 wagon, windscreen glue all over the A pillar upon delivery.

Hopefully problems are few and far between, as you would expect. Realistically, not every car can be perfect as it rolls out the factory (would be nice though).

Finally got to Townsville today and test drove a Calais and sat in an SS-V, CalaisV, Evoke and SS. Wow beautiful cars. Holden has done a great job. 3k I hear to replace a HUD windscreen however...

Didn't have a SV6 manual on hand though, so still can't decide.. Really like the two-tone alcantara interior of the Calais, not sold on the amount of chrome. Dark interior of SS looked good to, but I'm a sucker for two tones. Drove to Townsville in a Series 2 Caprice V V8, new VF is so much better, fit finish, quality, the drive (wow Calais handles well, can't wait to try FE2), V6 feels like it's going hard, sports shift is great too. The auto park worked, cant see me ever using it and remote start is a cool feature, mainly to show off to friends, my climate doesn't really need it. Auto is really great and car only had 12km on the clock. Regal Peacock is a terrible colour, looks black.

I should get a manual SV6 because I don't really need remote start, colour trip computer, 8-way adjustable electric seat ( I'll only move it once right?), fog lights either.. But shit my Lancer VR has rain sensing wipers and fog lights why can't this... Hmmm

A couple of interesting things I found out today........

    1. Only one gas strut on the bonnets of the VF now....so $$$$ saving there for Holden,

    2. Saw a dyno video of a VF SSV A6 wagon with an OTR, looked like a VCM OTR......so they do fit

Really? Is it a different windscreen to the other models? The HUD image is projected from the dash area up onto the windscreen didn't think the glass would make much difference.

    Makes sense as bonnet aluminium.
My 370Z has no struts at all (also alu bonnet).

XF Falcon also one strut ....with big heavy steel bonnet.
Wasn't hugely successful, but light alum on VF should be ok.

I was under the same impression, from what I was told all the windscreens are the same uv protective screen.

hey this will freak you out. check out the material they have used for the inner guard linings on the vf. wtf. also i,ve done 3 or 4 vf,s now and have noticed a massive gap at the rear where the rocker cover meets the wheel arch. just a bad fitment i think as it is an easy adjustment to close the gap.

and speaking of the hud. you will have to keep the inside of the windscreen spotless where it displays.

    cheers tezza

Sound deadening under the wheel arches to reduce road noise

this car looks to get all the options i ordered with mine with the HF 20 alloys, track stripes and black out surrounds on the fender, grille and DRL surrounds. Hope mine will be a better fitment, although it doesnt look that huge or bad

What did they charge you as changeover cost to go to the 20's ? All I can find on the Holden website is $2,200 for alloys only excluding tyres

Forgive my naivety but aren't rocker covers on the engine?
