R8 sv looks brilliant in Prussian steel. Senator does as well.

I've never looked at purchasing rims before, surprised how expensive they are. There goes the idea of a white SV6 with black grill outline and black fender vents with Graphite coloured wheels...

What did you think of the overall finish of the paint and panels John?

Panel fit and finish is really good Simon. They are paying particular attention to this. Much, much better than ve.

I just went past my dealer and they had a hsv r8 out the back. I wasnt impressed with the finish on the out side. Where the point of the rear lights finish near the bumper the bumper sticks out a bit and you can see where the paint finishes inside the bumper. The right front headlight looked weird when I had a closer look it was not aligned properly. You could see unnder the bonnet. Im not overly fussy but if I had to fork out cash for an r8 and got that I wouldn't be too pleased. The other light was aligned well. Seems like the joins I saw where a little rough. May be due to trying to get them out to all the dealers.

Seems to be a lot of examples contradicting this..

From what I have seen and know, I am surprised (minor things but I agree, should not be there).

It is brand new car and kit so i am sure it is just some minor fine tuning.

Overall much better than my two ve HSV's and MUCH better than the fpv (that got there in the end but not great at first).

Ps. Visited my dealer drove a manual r8 sv and really enjoyed it. My last two cars have been autos but loved being in a manual again.

I wasn't sure if I'd like the bum, but being stuck behind an SV6 I can honestly say it looks awesome! Holden have done a great job of "shrinking" the size of the car though the appointments.

Loved the stripe kit across the doors, but god I hate the bonnet stripes, looks like a shield!

I really like the back. It's way better than the ve. The ve rear is too blocky for my liking.

That HSV would drive me bonkers. IDK what's worse, the panel gaps, unmatched paint ot the just have them so we can be different tacky gauges. Yet if I could, I'd still have one...

Re: VF Commodore revealed - Official details and pics- Part 2

The few VFs and two Gen Fs I have looked at have had good panel gaps and nothing hanging off that I could see. The issue with the paint will be that part is painted on metal and part on plastic and while it is the same colour it looks different. Happens on every car. Different angles and light makes it worse. When I had my F6 liberaced several years ago the paint guy said what do you want us to do, match the paint on the rear bumper with the front or make it look the same as the rest of the car? WTF? So he showed me. Yep he was right. Same for a Merc and an Audi that was there.

The plastic panels on each side of the shifter don't align (either side) in the picture of the two gauges.

And why the hell would you have gauges down there anyway?

These Holdens are good cars, but things like this really let them down, I reckon.
