You would argue a pissy 6k for the chance to get a black gts? I suspect you will get bumped down the list under the serious buyers and wait 6-8 months

Yeah, unfortunately, I agree. If you want to try and haggle, they'll just go to the next guy who is willing to pay sticker

I have a car so I dont need to buy one. Its purely a luxury item. I'm not buying with emotion either, so if they say no, it won't bother me.
I would be happy taking delivery next year or picking up a used one with a few 1000 kms.

Re: HSV Gen- F Launched - Official Pics/Video and details (Warning: pic heavy)

Thanks to a heads up from Vulture I went looking for a white R8 SV today to check out the rims and spoiler I have ordered for my GTS. I didn't see any 25th anniversary E3 GTSs so the rims were just what I had seen on the web. Well the white R8 SV was on a road trip but there was an SV Sportwagon in white and an orange R8 SV. I was wandering around on my own lost looking for the cars and the Financial Controller took pity on me and showed me the cars out the back. Actually he parked next to my E2 as I got out so I guess it was pretty obvious what I was looking for. Anyway having stood in the rain and ogled for a while I like them. Just as well I know.

I thought the back end was a bit underdone and the angle and bumps a little inconsistent based on the pics I have seen but actually it looks good. Not quite a Kylie arse but most definately NOT a Serena arse which was my private nightmare. The curves are nice and I think the lights roll with it quite well. The smaller spoiler / wing is unobtrusive and while the gap between it and the top of the boot is a bit weird I think it looks quite smart. Mind you it wouldn't bother me to go with the Senator bootlid spoiler if it comes to that. The colour of the spoiler matches well with the wheels which look black but close up they aren't quite that dark. On the white it looks very good.

When I ordered the spoiler was an easy call and as I mentioned I could always change that to an illicit Senator spoiler but I wasnt sure about the wheels. I could live with the standard GTS rims thought the three pairs of spokes remind me that someone in HSV has a three lobe fetish but I do like the 'BBS' style of these and I wasn't disappointed.

I have to say the orange isn't as full on as I expected though the one I looked at had the black stripes on it and that breaks it up. The guy I spoke with said they looked at the car and then added the stripes because it was too much orange. Having said that the colour isn't for me but then I am a boring old fart. Who wants his 430 kW now please. Please?????????????????

The front of the R8 probably looks better in photos than real life but again that is without spending a lot of time with it. I just think the vents that are around the fog light (guess it is a fog light) look a bit last minute add on and you don't really see these on the photos.

As a package the R8 SV looks very neat. I didn't get to hear it run or sit inside since I was holding a guy up from work he had to do for year end but I appreciated the attention. And that was after telling him up front I had ordered a GTS from a competitor!

Thanks again Simon for the info.

Will look great mike, but are you sure you don't want the gts rims with the lip spoiler?

Re: HSV Gen- F Launched - Official Pics/Video and details (Warning: pic heavy)

Bouka when I saw the rims the first time, in a magazine I think, I thought ok 6 twin spokes, symmetrical, simple ok. Then there was another shot showing that the spokes were arranged as three pairs and not symmetrical and the centre hub was a rounded off triangle and that killed them for me. I call the SV wheels BBS style because those were the first rims I saw of that style on a BMW. I really like that style of rim. The HSV version is a bit chunky compared to the finer BBS spokes but I like them. I know I haven't seen the GTS specific wheel but I would forever see the triangles and hate them. With my E2 I didn't like the factory 19s but was too late changing the spec, so I sold those with 26km on the tyres and then put the W427 wheels on. I really like the 427 wheels and it makes my E2 a bit different. The guy at Zupps commented on the wheels and Walky spoiler when we were talking about the R8 SV so I'm not the only one who thinks it looks better.
