I understand what drone is, but can't find any good videos of it so I don't know if drone would bother me or not. I just want my V8 to sound like a V8

its pretty annoying .. hence all the exhaust people claiming their systems are drone free .. seems they all drone but to different degrees

I've had a full KPM 3" system (pre SLC and quite loud) on my VE ute for four and a half years now and love it! Even with the cam which makes windows rattle and sets off alarms the only time there is a bit of drone is going up an incline under load in top gear in my A6. Even then it's pretty negligible. Cruising at 100-110kmh there's just a slight background burble but normal conversation is a piece of cake.

I'm getting a twin 2.5" Xforce installed next week to my redline. I wanted it to be a bit quieter than my mates VE SSV with a 3" Xforce as I will be doing a few work K's in it.

I just want my V8 to sound like a V8, most stock V8 exhausts I've heard lately are quieter than my crappy VN V6

I have a twin 3" xforce with Hooker mufflers on the rear and it is pretty quiet for day to day duties. Only loud when you stand on it.

I probably wouldn't get an Xforce then. Go with the new Sureflo system, heard nothing but positive feedback on it!

I have twin 3" sureflo on the clubby and twin xforce 3" on the senator. One is over 4k one is under 1k. The xforce sounds more V8, the Sureflo more sedate and quality with a subdued rumble. The stainless steel sounds thinner on the Sureflo than the thicker mild steel in the xforce.

Love the Sureflo, but more than happy with the xforce.

I can't stand the raspy metallic note on the Xforce at WOT.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll talk to the exhaust shop boys about options, they were happy to put something on and let me test it for a week and modify if need be. I find the twin 3" xforce to be a little bit boomy in the cabin so wanted something pretty quiet for cruising but to at least hear the glorious V8 when I stand on it
