May be a stupid question but I am guessing the V8 with auto in the VF has AFM........I remember driving a VE with AFM and it had a display on the dash stating when it was running on 4 or 8 cylinders. I have not found that on my Calais ??

I would say you are correct, it's a novel thing so maybe they thought they would ditch the indicator.

I was wondering the same thing. Is there a hidden menu of extras on the VF like there usually was on earlier models by holding down a button when the car is started? Maybe it would be in there if there is one.

WP8 and Mylink. How does it go? Can you use Pandora? Can you access navigation by speaking etc?

Unfortunately I didn't get to test everything with WP8 during my test drive and I am still a couple of weeks away from taking delivery of the car too. What I can tell you is there is a Windows Vista icon (yes Vista) on MyLink and when I pressed and played with the options my phone was seen and it offered to download my contacts to the car. Phone calls could be made fine and bluetooth just worked. I did a test call to see what the audio quality was like (very good) and left it at that. Otherwise I did try playing music stream via bluetooth and that worked first time. It also recognised my MP3 playlist without any prompting from me. We played a coupe of different tracks to listen to the Bose audio and everything worked fine and I could control the music from the MyLink screen. I have a Nokia 920 by the way. I was kind of keen to get back to driving the car at that point.

Later I was talking to a Holden factory guy and he said everything but Stitcher works on WP8. He said Pandora is supported if you download the WP8 app. Sorry I can't tell you more.

The MyLink system is very powerful, but quite intuitive. There is a slight lag on some button presses, but really that is being picky. I really liked it the most of any in car system I have personally used before. Like VF itself, its quite impressive.

None on the front guard vents???

The only ones I recall seeing are the SS badges on the sides and boot lid...

I don't think 6.0 badges have been used since 2010. I think I have this right....

Auto - 6.0 badges stopped early 2009, replaced with AFM till late 2010 (rear & sides), then AFM (rear)/Series II (sides) after that.
Manual - 6.0 finished late 2010 (on sides only?), replaced with E85 (rear)/Series II (sides).

I replaced the side 'AFM' with 'Calais V' on mine.

Does anyone know if the colour of the dash lights can be changed. Mine is blue and I would like to see how the red looks like the SS SSV etc...

What makes you think the series II will get the LS3? Even if HSV go the LT1 as predicted I cannot see them throwing the LS3 in the SS or SSV or Redline.

Yeah why would they? It might be some sort of record - The only car company to have the same engine in a car for 10 years with less power than it originally had when it launched?

Great result from a stock VF R8 around Wakefield, beating the previous Aussie best of 70.2 secs by an F6 with a 69.5. For comparison an Evo 10 (fastest of Evos) does 69.4. They then did another lap - 69.1!
