I know my guy does a LOT of musical instruments and I've always found that to be an absurd use of the technology, any decent high performance Cast Iron engine just about always used a "Seasoned Block" by this one that had been buried in ground that had permafrost year round, i.e. the old 010 Chev blocks, the 1.5L BMW Turbo F1 blocks, good watchmakers also use this to good effect, modern Cryo Treaing is just a more controllable short cut to the same ends.
So are you saying Wonky should piss on his brakes, like the BMW Bois did on their engine blocks?

Also spoke to Chev about cryo treatment while I was researching it and he was all in favour from his experiences. After 8 days instead of their usual next day delivery (from all I've read on various forums) the Remsa pads finally arrived at Chev's from GSL today so I picked them up and took them over to the cryo place in Box Hill along with the rotors. Should get them all back Fri arvo.

From what I understand martensite is very 'hard' therefore it's also brittle, so it's not always a good thing, you also form martensite in the heat affected zone when you weld steel and cool it quickly

He could do it after the run. Well with some care. Pissing on hot brake disks may lead to some hot splash back which I would say could cause a nasty burn.
