Dropped into the local dealer today and they had a Gen-F Senator Signature in the showroom looking very tidy in white. Well appointed inside, 340 k-dubs under the bonnet, VE Sen and Sig badging...then I looked up. No DVD player.

I spoke to one of the sales team and he said that the roof-mounted DVD option is not available on VF at all. The solution from Holden...an iPad holder!?!

Sorry if this has been mentioned before. I know that DVD is getting a bit old tech now but that seems a bit of an oversight for the family market and to not have one in the top-of-the-range lux model is a bit poor.

Sat in a Calais V and Redline VF over the weekend.... damn, I want one.

The interior is at a completely different level to the outgoing VE. Just a very very nice place to be.

Lol, when we picked ours up the kids had to be shown what a DVD was .. My little guy is 8, and didn't even know you could get movies on anything other than a flash drive

Yep ... last car we optioned a DVD on was the E1 GTS in 2006, I don't think our guys ever used the DVD in the Grange!

Didn't even ask when we bought the E3, they wouldn't use it anyway.

I prefer the ipad holders, son 5 knows how to work em and I don't need to carry a bunch of kids DVDs with me, that and a roof mounted one would get in the way of my awesome sunroof. Calais V

Any idea how the Caprice is fairing sales wise, wonder how much of a hit it has taken with limited external changes..

I use the DVD in my VE Series 1 to play music since there is no cheap USB option available. I don't have an iPhone and if I play music from my Galaxy S4 when it is on charge, I get static.

rear aux, the front aux is used for the 3.5mm input jack.

its good, but has its limitations - my music collection is around 60Gb, so I need to burn around 8 DVDs.

the DVD player cannot cope with music being in folders, so if you want to play all songs on a DVD, you have to burn them outside folders.

The static problem with charging is easily fixed with a cable that has a filter in it. Can find them in some shops and eBay etc. I bought one when I had my E2 Senator. It filters the earth noise. I think belkin make such a 3.5mm cable.
