I made no mention about value for money with that specific answer, you don't need to tell me.

It is good value if you start with the 317 or 325 models. I think if you were planning on doing this you'd grab a non SV Clubsport rather than the SV. No point paying for the better intake and bimodal exhaust if you're going to rip it out.

Exactly right mate, apart from a few cosmetic differences there is only extra power to be had with the SV-Enhanced model. Stick to the "standard" R8 and it'll cost you the same money but with a better power result.

Definitely makes for a performance bargain really. A standard 317 Clubby - which has much better brakes, shorter diff ratio and better suspension than an SS. Add this package and it would be a cracker. The SV for those who want the bimodal, a tune would still liberate a few extra herbs.

For me the Standard Clubby is just that, standard, it misses out on too many of the luxirues. For me the Clubsport R8 is the one, add in some aftermarket breathing apparatus and a tune and it's a great liitle package.

I read that Walkinshaw performance no longer use HM's exhaust systems and rebadge them as WP.....I believe they now use DiFlippo systems however they do not make bimodal mufflers so what do WP use for bimodal replacements ?

Maybe XForce Varex mufflers ? be interested to hear from someone in the know !!!

For that price, it would be cam, otr, full exhaust and tune anywhere else.. Also more than a feeble 375kw

Simple John , they don't offer a bimodal option anymore.
And I had the pleasure of hearing one of the new 3" WP exhausts, awesome if you like loud

I don't know what others think but to me in this age where everyone (politicians, police, even the general public) seems to be coming out harder and harder against stuff like loud exhausts, throwing away your bimodal system for one more likely to get you pinged seems a backward step to me. Admittedly I suspect something like HM's 3" bimodal wouldn't pass an EPA sound check but at least it gives you the option of keeping it quiet enough not to attract attention to yourself in the first place when driving near a police car. Much and all as I absolutely love my KPM 3" system, if I ever get another V8 I'd almost certainly go HM bimodal (or similar).

I think Luis did some testing on a HM bi model system and got it to pass. Can't recall the details though

Got to agree with you there, Wonks. I've heard the KPM system on a Maloo and been in a mate's car with a full 3" Di Filippo system on a blown 6 litre. Both are loud and sound great. The 2.5" HM Bimodal on my Senator is great when you put the boot in but on the highway, nothing beats the quiet cruising. It was a good part of the old Walkinshaw package.

When APS did mine, they set it up like the factory system. I have no control over opening rpm, throttle, etc and it opens around 4000rpm like the HSV ones.
