So I took my ute in and according to Holden, the rears are subwoofers. Though for some reason you simply cannot hear them if you set the fade all the way to the rear, even with the bass set to maximum.

Completely agree, weak. Which is why I'm considering upgrading them to balance the stereo out more

Is there some sore of adjustment on the amp? I recall on my E2 Senator you could adjust the subwoofer with a little dial in the boot.

Swap the polarity on the Sub woofers, it made a helluva a difference on my VE SS-V...... Oh and turn the gain up on the amp.

Im not sure if there is just one specific update or if its a series of them to bring the vehicle up to date in regards to the HVAC but my understanding is
the number E2.0E.13.30 and the ones that proceed it were only to do with the HVAC. There was no mention of any other component needing an update.

If SMASHFIST reads this can you ask the boys in service if this is the case.

Very Valid point made above ....
First check the polarity, for some reasons car Somalia manufactured looms on the other car brand Ford - always seems to get them round the wrong way by the time it reached the speakers.
When swapped - turned music from sounding completely dead to alive...

God I hope Holden aren't using Ford horror loom supplier.... eek!

not sure if it has been covered but the shop across from work has 2 vf utes, one is a sv6 and the other ss. Both of there utes has been stripped of there interior as the aircon overflow pipe was kinked when installed resulting in water build up in cab.

Where are the amps? I've heard they're in the boot on the passenger side behind the battery but haven't tried to pull the carpet out yet.

It is on the drivers side rear corner behind the panel.

No there's no adjustment on the amp, I pulled it out to check, haven't swap the polarity over yet though.

On a different matter, earlier I had a cry about the over spray on the car on not all to happy with the dealerships attempt to fix it so I took it to Des from autofx (perth) for a quote on paint correction.

What surprised both of us was the varying thickness of the paint.

Boot and bonnet were 120 microns but the drivers side of the car at top of door panel was 145 and dropped to 115 by the bottom of the door, with the passengers side ranging from 135 to 120 with the lower side of the car being lower.

According to Des Holden is meant to be pretty consistent with their spray on VE and was surprised with the inconsistency if the thickness. The paint in this car is our biggest let down for us, so the car is booked in for the correction to get rid of the dealerships attempt of removing the over spray by adding a millions scratches to the car.

If you just let it drop from about 20% open, is it still hard?
