I wonder if Walkinshaw are developing a GTS W500 package?

My sources at lingenfelter have suggested there will be a W500 package available for the GTS next month. Seems Walkinshaw are intending to rebrand some of Lingenfelter's hardware namely the supercharger snout and pully assembly.

will these 'packages' de-value the original W427?

sounds like they will to me

I doubt it. It's a niche market for anyone that wants a W427

    in the short term yes...
but rememeber the W427 was a limited build and the first car aussie car to 'crack' the 500hp off the show room floor
and yes price is all in who whats to buy it.
    only a W427 can take replace a W427
its the bench mark and always refered to when a car is above the 500hp range (eg this thread)

I would take a base W427 over ANY hyped up modern Walkinshaw product at every opportunity.

after owning a Gen-F i could never go back to VE, even the W427. I think a lot of people would think this, the new VF interior is too good to ingore. On the plus side i think a lot of people will think the same so if your in the market for a W427 the only way is steeply down for their resale.

You are assuming of course that I am stuck in my "old VE" having never experienced the joys of some interior wonderland. I stepped out of an Audi with buttons/lights/knobs/ for everything and the kitchen sink to get into the Senator - so trust me, I am no longer impressed by any kind of interior "feature set".

When I get in my 77 LX Torana hatchback, I don't think about how primitive the interior is, or that it doesn't have (insert wank gadget name).

Or maybe I can't afford a VF though, so I must be jealous instead of having my own opinion based on what I find tasteful or not?

when i 1st sat in a VF and then went back to my VZ, yeah i thought that it too was just way to plain etc etc..

now several weeks on, i ain't missing anything and still love the ol' VZ interior.

^^ love the old 70's interior styling, and i love torrie's.

no need to take it personally buddy. i would think though if you can afford a W427 you can afford a Gen-F or a W375. If we all had the same opinion it would be a pretty boring forum.
