317kw in a car that weighs 1800kg is not much thats the thing. I use to have between 250 and 300kw depending on boost at the wheels in a 2 door sti weighing 1250kg about half a ton lighter.

Go and drive another one or two and if they are the same then your expectations were probably too high .

Re: Test drive of a gts

With the rough ride, the GTS has MRC, if it was bad maybe the MRC shocks are not working now. Pretty sure they don't last a long time, I recall a GTS sold on this website a few years ago, the new owner had to replace the MRC shocks. Genuine HSV MRC shocks are very expensive, if figure many will be replaced with standard shocks due to the cost. Performance wise I took a E3 Clubsport R8 auto for a test drive earlier this year and I thought the same. Compared to my standard VX R8 (manual) it was good, but I didn't think it was really that fantastic. I guess with the weight of the VE over the older series some of that extra 60 Kw is lost. I guess as others have said what are you comparing it to?

I have a new ve tourer auto 325 kw with vcm otr no tune and it goes bloody hard compared to my vx ss auto that has a tune. The ride and handling is awesome so maybe test a few others

What does a stock VE GTS have at the rear wheels? I imagine it would be similar to mine at 263rwkw? Feels pretty good to me.

Yes well i drove a 2009 clubby today 317kw r8 auto the ride of it was just like a new car and not what i had experienced in my last drive the thing did go a lot better . The sound of this thing was howling out of its arse the old mate from the car yard shut up very quick after i had mashed my foot to the floor i did'nt need him speaking shit to me any way. Some how i dont think i would have a licence for to long as it is just so easy to nail it . I will have to do a few more runs tho to make me absolutely sure iam doing the right thing.

It's because Clubby's are much faster than GTS's
