What's the best CAI for a Monaro with a Mafless tune?

Hi Guys, I unexpectedly ended up with a mafless tune on my cv8 on the weekend, and need to remove the stock intake pipe and MAF(I,m driving around with the MAF still fitted atm, just unplugged) and am trying to work out what to put on, I have a Monaro scoop bonnet to fit soon, so I see a lot of the OTR's won't fit, do I just get the bigger intake pipe that connects to the stock airbox?

Just bear in mind that if you change your intake then you will need to recheck your tune. You don't have to get rid of your maf sensor and you can leave it plugged in if you wish as the maf is turned off in the tune. You could just get the bigger pipe and redo your plumbing. I am not familiar with the otr for your set up so cant comment about what is available there. Maybe if you contact all the manufacturers of the otrs. Does your engine have a big cam fitted or is it stock?

Hi, no engine is stock except for exhaust, I fitted 3.73 gears(auto) and went to get calibrated and found the previous tuner had PIN locked the PCM, I had a local tuner here end up setting me up another PCM, and did a mafless tune, I would like on OTR, but want one that kinda looks like it should be there, I have seen a few that almost look like the car came with it, not some big alloy thing.

Just get a bigger intake pipe and remove the MAF, or even leave it as it is depending on what power level you're running.

I ran an alloy OTR for years, sold the car and the new owner tried several different intake setups back to back, and the original airbox with a two-hole mode (long time members might remember those ) performed the best! More info here.

I have seen these ones on ebay if it helps,

the guy says that they were designed to fit under the Monaro bonnet.

I have the 2 hole mod on my Monaro, works fine for me while retaining the stock appearance.

I just run the GTS Maf pipe + 2nd hole mod to the airbox + K&N air filter. My Maf & original pipework is sitting in the cupboard - in case I ever decide to put it all back to stock. Been this way for the past 8 years & no problems.

Yeah, I may well go that way too, my airbox already has the 2 hole mod, but finding a GTS MAFLESS pipe is proving difficult, SS inductions do a larger pipe, but it only suites a MAF and isn't long enough for mafless, I phoned a HSV dealer today, and a genuine setup is about $360 all up!

I was under the impression that the X-Air OTRs will clear the Monaro bonnet, otherwise maybe a US one like a Vararam?
