    Help Needed Finding Motorcycle Part

    Hi guys,

Hoping somebody can help me please with a little problem I have. We recently bought me a second hand mobility scooter, but as you might expect from someone with my car history there was no way I was getting a normal “old people’s” one. This one I got has motorbike styling and in fact even uses some actual motorcycle components, hence my problem. One of the front indicator lenses is missing (not fixed in in any way, the other one just popped out when I went to get photographs).

(Mine is not that new looking. )

I’ve tried a few local motorbike places and mobility shops but nobody seems to have any or be able (be bothered???) to get them in for me. Using the lettering on the lens I found what seems to be the Chinese manufacturer (http://www.jute.com.tw/en/products_s...product_sn=252 shows the actual lens, http://www.jute.com.tw/en/products_s...product_sn=237 shows better the pair of indicators) of the whole indicator set.

If anybody associated with bikes could find me these or even something which will fit in their place (clear lens, fit into approx. 52.6mm internal diameter light) I’d be very grateful. I’m not really worried about trying to match the slots and grooves in the existing lens as I’m sure even if they’re non standard I can make it fit (I’m definitely going to silicon or even glue them in in future so they can’t just fall/pop out).

    Thanks,
    Gary

    Gary

    a couple of thoughts...
can you lay your hands on the HELLA catalogue? I know they do a series of round indicator lens (in clear and orange)

    and
been to a trailer/caravan place? I have seen caravans with round indicators (about 2" in diameter)

and bikes? KTM 250 Aprilia 250 Yamaha Viragos have round indicators for example

and the Mini.. yup the first one had round indicators at the front

Thought about just replacing all 4 with a Universal indicator set Gary?

    About $20

I'd go for some LED replacements, the power you save when indicating will give you much more power on tap for accelerating out of the corners!

Sorry I can't offer any helpful advice Gary, but the Hella catalogue would be your best bet or your auto elec may be able to 'shed some light'.

If you go to http://www.jute.com.tw/en/application.php?P=1 it shows what makes of bikes their products are used on, including Triumph and Suzuki plus a whole heap I've never heard of before, but not much detail on what's used where.........

Thanks Toddler. Those particular ones are too small but I've found some other universal indicators which may work - have to have a close look in the daylight.

Looks like it's going to be easier just to replace both indicators rather than chase lenses.

Thanks Seldo! The Third Gear ones plus some eBay ones are the ones I referred to above as promising.
