Just signed up foxtel by Telstra. Including sports and HD $60 a month. No box or instal fee, and instal on Friday.
All foxtel would do is drop either the box fee or instal fee, not both. They also wouldn't do anything to try and make their offer worthwhile.
My only concern about foxtel and telstra though is if your interneg connection isng good enough then your picture is going to be crap. Iam i right in assuming the telztra deal means the foxtel is over yhe internet or is it a set top nox as well?
I'm not a hoon, I'm just competitive
Cable connection, Internet will be via cable also
Best feed for HD
At the moment Telstra is offering free installation and free 1st box (we just ordered 2 boxes as my daughter and her partner are living with us while their house is being built ). The second box and install are costing us $75 ea as per normal.
It will be interesting to see how they do it because we're on the NBN here, whereas at our last place we had a satellite dish for Telstra Foxtel.
The thing that worries me with the instal is that when ya've got an unknown installer crawling around in ya roof where there's Air conditioning ducting etc, they could a lot of damage that you wouldn't know about?
Pickles.
I'll guess and say you'll get a dish on the roof. The only 2 options for foxtel is cable and satellite. Foxtel play is over the internet but no boxes are required for that.
Should also mention free box and instal finishes on 23rd. Rumor is 3 months free sport after that.
Maths isn't my strong point, but 150 saving is better than 75 for free sport.

Happy days, watching P1. What a difference HD and no adverts makes. TCM to follow![]()
Im watching it on 10 now. Glad to see Crompton came across, bit upset that scaife didn't follow though
I'm not a hoon, I'm just competitive
I dropped my phone line rental for a VOIP phone and use that saving to subsidise my Optus Foxtel
Truth be told I am considering getting rid of the VOIP as well.
I would also consider dropping foxtel altogether and upping my internet package as most things are availabe there one way or another
Stu
Red Hot M6 VE SS Ute. Curves yes please on my women and my road.
Watched it on 10, Ditto Todd's thoughts on Crompton, miss Skaife more than I expected, all a bit touchy feely with lots of Fluff, Ads every 10 minutes would make it unbearable to try and watch live....![]()
I am a Foxtel fan, had it for many years, so much that have it in my holiday place also. I think 70 - 80% of what I watch is Foxtel. I'm Victorian and I watch sport. I have travelled to watch V8s, many times to Adelaide, Bathurst, Oran Park (old days) and even went to Austin TX.
For the last 3-4 years I have just taped the V8s, then watched it later turning a 5 hour broadcast in to 90 mins, and got frustrated when director couldn't see what was about to happen, went to an ad break only to return to safety car, then back to ad break, repeat again. This included ad breaks in 10 min qualifying sessions.
If today was anything to go by, where I did watch the majority of the telecast, I think this is a major step forward for those interested in motorsport here, not just the V8s but the promotion of other categories also.
I now look forward to watching F1 on Foxtel. The HD difference and the removal of ad breaks alone.
I know some will say it is not worth it, but if today wasn't worth $15.00 and the next 2 days worth $20.00 each, I'm not sure how much cheaper 10 hours of entertainment per day can get.
This is not a paid advertisement
Also got to watch AB de Villiers score the fastest 150 in ODI history, and Carlton get beat, only on Foxtel. Will tune in to Rory in the morning before Clipsal.
And with only 10 F1 broadcasts on FTA this year, half the season is only available on Foxtel.
How did that old midnight oil track go? The rich get richer and the poor don't get the picture...
