It never computes for me, when people say i could buy X car and mod it and blow the doors off Y car. That can be done with a datsun or corolla too. Regardless, spend 50k on an SSV, add blower, fuel mods, brakes, suspension, intercooler, exhaust, and anything else that requires beefing up and you're soon pushing 75k... An extra 20k for a factory warranted car, engineered that way from the start ain't too bad... In several years, the 95k GTS will still fetch GTS money, but the SS with 20 odd thousand on it will still fetch SS money (for the most part)...
I do agree, but I guess what some are saying is that if the new Commodore has a LS3 better suspension, bimodal exhaust etc etc is there enough of a gap to justify a Clubsport for instance? The GTS will always be in a league of its own with its configuration.....About time I may add the VE GTS had little Extra over the R8..
    2011 VE HSV R8, W375 , Manual....

Totally agree with the SSV vs Clubsport. Will be interesting to see if HSV do something special for the clubby.

Don't think it would be a "deal clincher"

It's not clear to me....is this only for phone and music functions? or can you essentially 'screen share'? ie, does this mean I could run my phone GPS (Sygic) up on the centre screen instead of using a phone holder?
[FWIW I have a GTS on order and haven't tried the in-built GPS of any Holden - I tried it on a hire car in the UK {Vauxhall Insignia} and wasn't impressed - went back to my phone]

Re: VF Series II IS HERE

Have been told a few things by a few dealers,

    All speculation thus far

VF SS will be 340kw LS3
All HSV will be LSA with exception of the grange
    HSV power lifted to 380-400
GTS to remain top of the tree at 340
REDLINE Models to have a LSA option....... Interesting!
SSv to get all the tech gear like HUD, Paddles, Brembos, etc
new front and rear clip to all including the UTE and WAGON
    big changes to mylink
New seats as per export model
    bi-modal on ss
    adjustable suspention on ss

heap of custom bits like the black roof, black wheels etc
    also mentioned a new GRAY,

remembering the the holdens won't get all the HSV driveline and suspension etc, so I believe there's still room for the clubsports,

Will be interesting to see what's what later in the year
Few items have already come true like the supercharged HSV range, so hopefully, the rest is right

Re: VF Series II IS HERE

It may only be the manual SS's that get the LS3. Autos are getting the L99.

All of this info is covered in another thread somewhere

I wouldn't mind a series 2 ute or one of the last run out cars before they cease making. but then again if we get the Camaro or corvette, I'll just save my money for one of them.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.
