I dunno. 400 seems a bit close to the GTS. Unless the GTS gets a hike too of course. Also, does detuning (alone) save anything?
I'd have thought it more likely to detune to a level that the special diff isn't required and hopefully that the additional cooling isn't needed also. No idea where that point would be.....375?
Going the "GTS lite" path sounds expensive where as bumping power in R8 kinda makes sense and maybe that's easier to achieve with a detuned LSA versus extracting more from the LS3.

I doubt you will see a 400 number outside of the GTS.

The LSA goes with the diff, rear end etc. I don't think you would see one without the others.

The current 340 LS3 is the most powerful LS3 in the GM world (from memory) so i wouldn't expect much more.

Whatever the boys are planning in next update, i have no doubt it will be worth waiting for.

Hopefully its enough to keep my dollars local cos the euros have some nice stuff coming and im really liking the look of the new C63!

Depends. I get the feeling you will be happy with whatever is coming. We usually are. Coffee for me please, not T.

The new C63 is very nice but lots of $ too. Will be interesting no doubt. I won't be looking until the end of next year so hopefully something will be out before the last hurrah.

Probably not getting down South until July. Too much to do before the June love in.

I heard GTS-R for the swansong.

I cant see the R8 getting a detuned LSA. I mean what sort of performance car gets a detuned engine? And anyway the LSA has a hard enough time being being restricted to 430kw if its going in the clubsport than it should be as is and then the GTS gets a simple upgrade to 500kw.

Holden and HSV have been selling us detuned cars for decades.

Do you really think your average backyard tuner is smarter than the GM engineers? We all know a set of better valve springs will pull better up top without effecting emissions FFS.

"How restricted would you like your LS3 sir? 317, 325 or 340kw? Of course anyone can plug in and make more power, OR less if you prefer."

    Re: VF2 HSVs

340kW is the highest factory rating the LS3 has been sold with. Agree though that it is very easy to make 350 or more.
