I have a E2 Clubsport and i think you would have to change the front bumper and bonnet to E2/3, if your wanting DRL lights? The DRLs are a good thing, can be seen miles away.
Has anybody replaced the foglights in their E1 Senator with driving lights? Or, assuming E2 and E3 used the same lights and mounts E2/E3 too. If so what was needed please?
I like to have as much light on the road as I can and never use the foggies - much prefer to have driving lights!!

No, don't want DRLs, just actual driving lights thanks. Just would like to pull the fog lights out and replace them with long distance driving lights (spots).
In actual fact I have a complete brand new E2/E3 GTS/Clubby bar I'm trying to sell! LOL Just the foggies and DRLs are second hand but guaranteed perfect, the rest inc the bar itself is brand new.![]()
Interested in how you go with the changeover. My local dealer didn't even know how to adjust the aim of the existing Senator fog light, let alone change them out for something more functional.

Firstly you would need to change the wiring to ensure they only activate when high beam are on as well as separate switch.
You may find they are too low to legally be driving lights or be much use even if it is legal.
I believe the E3 Senator has driving lights as standard equipment.
What globe are they?
Throw a set of clear globes in and Try it , if you're happy with the extra light , wire them to your Hi-beam.
Have you upgraded your headlamp globes Gary?
Are you allowed to have driving lights below your headlights?
That's easy - being the "like as much light as possible" type I've had driving lights added to almost every car I've had since my first EH in 1972 to my SSV ute which had W427 driving lights in the W427 front bar, upgraded to 70w HID. All wired in to come on with high beam.
With my SV8 in 2004 I had driving lights added along with the fog lights and had to have an auto elec wire those in due to the changes to the way car wiring is now done. So, no problem with changing the wiring.
As to the height concern, the W427 driving lights were if anything even lower than the Senator's, not that I was aware there was even a legal requirement on auxiliary lights like driving lights.
