    Re: VZ Cluster programming

Don't believe it can be done with a Tech2 alone. I had my previous VY Clubbie Cluster changed & it had to be done with an eeprom/read/writer.
Held off doing my VZ Clubbie one but will be having it done soon.
Talk to Jezz on this board, he should be able to sort it.

Also like to know how a CV8-Z build number is found (as in the pic), didn't think they had one?

There are a few ways to do this. You need an aldl cable if you don't want to pull the cluster apart. www.carmodder.com has plenty of eeprom programming assistance if you can't do the aldl thing. . I have access to the software by arrow Australia and it can update all this info to any vy-vz cluster but this can be simulated by sending commands directly to the aldl bus.

Thanks for that Cobalt. Yes I have been looking at that page which says you can only access the information if you can be recommended by someone, it doesn't let just anyone join, one of the posts said. I have also looked at another which is VZ moder or something like that and he has all these codes written.

I have also read that people say it can only be done with the HSV logo, but if you re-write a code, can you not make the shutdown text work with a Holden logo start up or substitute the HSV logo for the Holden one in the HSV program?

I will send you a PM.

    Re: VZ Cluster programming

Does anyone know if AAPL still exist? I'm looking for someone who knows how the program works for the VZ cluster in order to re-write the program. Any help would be great. Cheers

    Re: VZ Cluster programming

this young fella from perth offers a server over the web to program dash clusters.

    http://www.envyouscustoms.com/servic...r-programming/

he wrote his own program to replace the old aapt software.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.

Yes I know him, was also offering to sell the app to DIY...but I got tired of contacting him telling me it's still a little way off...going on for approx. 2 years now! Maybe I won't have the VZ for too much longer anyhow.

    Re: VZ Cluster programming

Sorry but you cant have a Holden logo with the Model and Build number text. The only way you could do it would be to swap the images for Holden and HSV directly in the MCU of the cluster. BE VERY careful playing around with the AAPL software. One it was designed for VY not VZ and two its very buggy and you can actually destroy a cluster with a single click.

And just because the picture shows CV8-Z 0154 means nothing. You could make it OMEGA 1234 and when the ignition turns on its a HSV logo

I know him very very well, good mate of mine actually. There is a lot more to the story. Major host going down with no backups, source code on the servers and more.

Pop in here and there. Not as much as I used to. After 11 years on the forum there is only so many:
-Which is better, Mafless or MAF?
    -Which oil should I run?
    -What's your fuel economy?

    Threads you can take
