Why don't you call up Acitves and ask Edddy about the cam specs?
Hi guys,
New to this forum, need some advice on cam sizes for my ls3
My 2012 e3 clubsport originally had a lumpy cam installed by active automotive in WA, went well had 370rwkw, until it snapped a valve spring, they used single bee stings springs in it, which my mechanic now says they should have used doubles. My mechanic pulled out the cam the only numbers on it were "055" does anyone know what size it is? It's a custom grind cam
So now I'm up for a rebuild and have desided to stroke it to 418ci, I need to decide how lumpy I should go, what power have you guys got with the 418ci with what size cam? my car was lumpy before so im not afraid of the pig rooting
Also should I get the 102mm fast manifold and fuel rails, and throttle body? my mechanic says the stock ls3 manifold will start to restrict it for air once I get upto 390rwkw
Thanks!

How well was the motor spinning when the single let go?
Pedro, if your new tuner is up to date with tuning VE e38 ecu properly, then you shouldn't get any "pig-rooting" buck in the car.
I've been tuning a friends 408 at the moment, while it's an auto it does has a 231/258 sized cam and it idles at 800rpm in gear with a stock manifold/tb with no hole in the blade.
You should get a cam size that will suit what you want to get out of the motor/car. I prefer to have a moderate sized cam myself and have a nice torque band over on that feels like a 2 stroke with a high rpm power band.
Also I wouldn't worry to much about running the single springs, with the right spring set they can be better than a dual. duals still break and drop valves.
It's happened before, It will all happen again.
mick, was merging onto a highway, revved it to 5200 and then it popped..
the valve dropped in and luckily the piston hit back into the heads and it didn't fall out again and didn't touch the block! I'd post a pic but not sure how too yet

The numbers on the cam are 005 not 055, just rang eddy he's calling me back soon!
PM sent....
got the cam specs
Was a 236/242 612 inlet 591 exhaust 114 load
The engine has only done 32000kms all work was done at 17000kms, that's why I'm annoyed, never do burnouts or be stupid in it and yet, one broke, onto bigger and better things now but👍
Still not sure about what size cam, pretty sure I'm going to go pretty aggressive, but still want to be able to cruise at 110-115 in 6th gear any suggestion?
Bought a manifold today and getting to fuel rails too.
Do you know what brand springs they are?
But regardless, personally, I'd have put doubles in with that cam. A good single could handle it but you'd want to double check the geometry and regularly keep an eye on them like Micks says.
Have a chat with Mitch at WA Perf or John at SQP for the new combo.
You don't need fuel rails with the FAST manifold, you can run the stock rail with injector spacers no worries
you can but I don't like the spacers your putting the injector spray further away from the action.
I've got a 239/247 in my 6L and drives fine in 6th at 100kms with 3.7 diff, i'd probally keep the cam you have but shave the heads for more comp(my heads are shaved 60thou but had to flycut the pistons)
239/247 goodness............
Use Top spacers..
