Elite Engineering catch can arrived yesterday, so spent an hour in the shed fitting it. I know they are expensive, but anyone who has one will know that they are really high quality. Also surprised at how easy it was to fit after hearing and reading all the stories about needing a different bracket for our Australian cars. Well not so, the bracket that came with the can was perfect to bolt to the drivers side head. There is not much space available, so not sure how I am going to go unscrewing the base, will jump that hurdle when I come to it.

The Camaro pan has arrived from Pace Performance, and I decided to pick up some trans fluid. Wasn't sure what to go for, but decided on the Penrite fully synthetic x 2 as it was one that was compatible with Dex VI. Not cheap by any means, but hopefully is as good as the rest of the Penrite gear (always ran the Gear oil 70 in the T56 on my old VT).

I ran my H+C VT LS1 on Penrite 10W50 Full Synthetic for the last 12 months that I owned it, seemed to like it and the price was good compared to Castrol. The Manual Gear oil 70 helped my old M6 box, but it was never a smooth box to start with. Not sure if the addition of a Ripshifter helped or sent it downhill.

Found both my current & previous T56 at around 70K would become rattly in 2nd gear using the regular ATF, though smooth as silk with Penrite.

Re: My Calais finally gets it's cam

Can anyone tell me what the fluid capacity should be for the 6L80 with deep pan installed? Cannot seem to find exact amount anywhere on the net.

    Cheers
