As much as I love the Commodore you can get so much more for your money elsewhere. Last week we sold our VE SV6 sportswagon and bought a new Skoda Octavia RS wagon. The Skoda is the same price as the Commodore but has so much more equipment, technology, safety, build quality and IMO looks better and has a much better driving experience. Yes it's not a V8 or even a V6 but the GTI engine is a ripper even as stock, and with nothing but a $1350 tune it flies.

Are they owned by VW? Reason I ask is a guy I work with went through hell with his last year and he was dealing with Solitaire VW here in Adelaide for warranty.
Edit: Long story short, computer died in it and they wanted 500 billion dollars to replace it and didn't think it was a warranty item.

Yeah, a subsidiary of VW. Basically a roomier family Golf GTI. Three people I know have bought one in the last few months, two of them Commodore owners. Sounds like his dealer was crap. Fingers crossed, very happy with the local Skoda dealer so far.

Never said they didn't just the fact it's extremely prevalent in some of the VW family. From what I have seen it's basically a bottle of top up oil between services....

Saw a new green SSV Redline yesterday. Driver gave it some as he took off and it sounded pretty good. Had a nice bark to it. Rear lights looked pretty good too

Mate of mine keeps his bottle of oil in the boot, no point getting it out he reckons. Whilst VW says they have a fix, and have "fixed it" - it still uses oil.

I wonder who the driver was and where the car was from. My understanding of at least 1 dealer in Victoria is that they won't be getting Redlines in stock until at least October.
