Based on the gap over the line, the GTS may well nudge ahead of the SC aswell.

Wonder why they did not race them all side by side?

Exactly, the race car was wheel spinning through low and second gear even with a soft take off, I suspect a rolling start against either of them would give a different result but it's still impressive no matter what.

every car should have both insane mode and a similar interface as the tesla ! tho if the walkinshaw could have jumped quicker maybe if it was a hybrid like the porsche 918...

Ian I think there is a large majority that still don't understand electric motors and the massive torque outputs they are capable of.

Its the way of the future. Tesla has done a great job of making the technology (which is still in its infancy) available to the masses.

The best part is Electric motors make "Maximum Torque" from 0 RPM...

Yep once battery tech trickles down and the better packs become widely available it's going to be a whole new world of performance!

Why don't they race from a roll.
Then it will be a little different.

Yeah I know right. Its like when I asked at Willowbank if I could start my passes 25m back and cut the beam with a roll on. Pricks just won't change the rules to accomodate the weaker runner. Its just not fair. Boohoo

Yep, just like doing more than just a few hundred metre sprint would not be fair on the other two lol.

Edit: How many laps would the Tesla be able to complete without pitting for a recharge? Say of Mt Panarama Bathurst for arguments sake? And lets say you are going for broke ie trying to compete with the V8 supercar.

A guy has a white Tesla near my place, seen it a fair bit lately,
it's a weird thing seeing it take off silently at the traffic lights.

I think they could have easily designed a much better looking car though.

Anyone else seen any on the road?

A car like the Tesla will easy have it over those cars in a short sprint. 4wd and sooo much torque. I'll be interested to see that the future of electric cars will bring but I'll always have a soft spot for the sound of an internal combustion engine. Would be interesting to see one run over Temora.
