What gear are you in? When the magazines test they actually start from 70km/h and use the VBox data as it passes 80km/h through to 120km/h.

3rd. I was just having fun so never thought about any accurate timings. I took it for a lap for a mate to get some feedback for him

    .. interesting

Holden are obviously pushing this 'performance' aura for VFII.. with not an EVOKE or Caprice to be seen.
Showing was SSV's (sedan and wagon) inc Redline versions, SS's (sedan and wagon) a lone SV6 plus
the full range of HSV models... from the GTS down. My pick was the 6 speed manual Supercharged Senator
... a very nice piece of kit! One for the retirement...

Guest speaker was James Courtney (.. aka V8 Supercar driver). Provided was a pack of the latest
brochures... from VFII thru to Colorado.

As a fleet manager, a nice easy way to spend 90 mins. They even provided hot food and drinks ...

Having said all that, general opinion on the night ... the sound tube that makes vroom vroom noises
in the cabin is a wank.

really? you weren't impressed with the MSE? Was that on looks or sound?

When I turned bi-modal off and planted it, I thought the MSE was a great addition as you could hear the engine come through the fire wall and into the cabin and the rear of the car was quiet.

I was impressed and that's coming from my series I Redline.

I don't understand why you would want that at all. People complain of drone and exhaust noise inside the cabin so why would you want to hear the engine inside the cabin when nobody else can hear it outside? I'd much rather have it quiet inside and loud outside.

looks in my opinion. Open the bonnet and you have what looks like a drain hose off a washing machine
in the engine bay running back to the firewall. Everyone who saw it went... WTF is that?
When the Holden guys told people, a number of comments I overheard were... that's stupid,
    Really? and what a wank!

Re: VF Series II IS HERE

I think the MSE is trying to match the awesome induction noise from back in the under insulated firewall, non EFI carby days, when induction noise rained supreme...

Induction noise has been very lacking ever since they went EFI all those years ago.

The MSE looks ugly in the engine bay, and I would say just about everybody will rip it straight out.

Every bi-modal exhaust from all manufacturers, just sounds like a fart half under water, total waste of time IMO...

Re: VF Series II IS HERE

WOW didn't know there was so much hate towards the MSE. Maybe I am the only one that likes it......

Yea ok perhaps its not the best looking and could have been done better, but maybe loud engines are coming back in fashion, just like big mobile phones???
