well & truly overdue (only by time because it still looks like new) & needs another

Yeah very sad but only keep it as I can register it very cheaply online for 3 months 24/7 as a backup car when needed
& I can also cancel the registration online 24/7 & claim balance refund.
Even though it's in top condition it's worth nothing but it won't depreciate anymore & I have plenty of undercover storage space.

I always understood tha MS exhaust systems will last for many years as long as the car is always driven far enough to burn out any condensation that forms when cold. If it is only driven on short trips which leave the system full of condensation then rust is a certainty. For cars that do short trips SS is a big advantage.

I have had my current MS Hurricane system for about 6 years without issues.

    That's also my understanding.
I'll happily pay for and use a premium oil that spends more time sitting in the sump while the car is in the garage than working and I'll do the same for my exhaust. I didn't pay extra because I think stainless sounds better or will maybe last longer, I bought a stainless system because its the better product.

Some of the stainless steel systems are not as good as you think either, I had a stainless HM system on my VX SS and it had been on for six and a half years and around 40,000 km when the rear muffler rusted out inside, the perforated tube in the rear muffler rusted out and all the fibreglass filling came out, the outer casing was still like new but it then started to drone real bad. I put the original Holden system back on and 15 years on and it is still fine.

On both my previous Tonner & now my Crewie with the Traybacks, I bought the Staino system as it looks the part compared to MS. Having the tray does expose the system more so than other vehicles do.

If you can see it then I can understand why poeple go polished stainless, if you cannot I do not give a toss if it is made out of recycled coke cans, so long as it sounds perfect.
