    Powerline wifi and ethernet

Trying to get wifi going out in my shed. I have a netgear ADSL/wifi modem which covers the house nicely however it won't reach the shed (about 30m away).

I've tried a TP Link wifi extender and transmitter (in the shed) but its too flakey, probably due to distance and objects in the way.

Has anyone tried those power line extenders which plug into your power point and use your homes electrical system to create a network bridge? Was looking at the d-link 'starter kit' at JB hifi which has one which is wired (obviously next to the main router) then a wifi one in the shed.

Curious to know if anyone's used these things before and what they're like?

    Cheers
    Deano

Your choice but if you want a great wifi setup with huge range grab one of these Picostation jobbies, bought mine off C4B (forum Mod) & good man to speak to about them too

I doubt it would work as I'd imagine the shed is on a separate circuit.

Back when I was in Melbourne I had trouble getting wifi out to my shed, I found a hacked BIOS for my Netgear router that turned the power up, no probs after that!
