Buick Avista, large RWD 2 door coupe showcar.

Buick really are on a roll lately with the Holden designed Avenir sedan at last year's Detroit motor show and this year they have unveiled a beautiful large RWD 2 door coupe, the Avista. Built on the same Alpha platform as the V8 Camaro and Cadillac TTV6 ATS-V Coupe. This particular Buick uses the TTV6.

Considering the styling is much closer in spirit to what a Monaro looks like (especially the V2/VZ era) rather than the Camaro, and the fact that the platform caters for a V8, we can look and dream that this could be a 2018 Monaro...

    Cheers, Matthew

looks great. I do hope it comes to Australia and has V8 and manual options. would be good competition for that Fraud coupe thing.

I'd have this over a Camaro.

True, but Holden's concept cars were also pretty far out too.

Holden aren't terrible creative with their production cars, point in case while I was playing around with the Lexcen I picked up a couple of damaged VE Guards that I was going to use as the basis for a pair of weld on flares... Didn't proceed but I did have the VE guard sitting on top of the VR guard.... Wheel opening, length and height were almost identical..

Cookie Cutter cars for the last 37 years..

The difference with our concept cars and that Buick it looks like it could be built and sold, only win we've had was the new Monaro but of course they recycled a LOT of Commodore into it, beautiful car as built but could have been so much more!

I don't think the front strut tower panel shape has changed much in those years either.

Although that Avista does look pretty good, I wouldn't say Buick was on a roll at all.

Their cars have been unfailingly UGLY for well over 35 years, to my mind..... with the only beauty of note being the Roadmaster wagon of the early 1990s.

The Avista would be the rare exception.

Buick is now huge in China and less so in the USA, and it offers horrible curvaceous SUVs and sedans.

I'll stick with my REAL Buick coupe, thanks.......
